Post #1 post 11th July 2010 - 07:53 PM
So finally got around to posting this up. Got this off a guy around a year ago. Unfortunately the car wasn’t quite what was promised so I’ve spent a fair bit of time going back over things, but I won’t go into that. I had some fairly big plans but I’ve kinda given up on them, starting a new project for when I go onto my opens soonish, so minus the things listed below this should be how it stays!

Engine -

4.1 Litre Crossflow out of a XF. Thanks to the old setup dying on me it’s just recently been rebuilt with Crow speedway cam, Crow valve springs, pushrods and lifters, Redline manifold, Holley Street Avenger 4 barrel carburetor, MSD ignition coil, AFCO radiator and so on.

Exhaust -

Pacemaker extractors, 2.5" exhaust, Hooker headers muffler.

Gearbox -

Absolutely rooted! However, it’s a C4 3spd auto with stage 2 shift kit, 2800RPM stall converter running with a B&M Megashifter.

Suspension /Brakes -

Running the brake calipers out of a AU Falcon. All suspension parts have been replaced – running nolathane parts. Lowered on King springs up front, need to get the leafs reset at the back.

Wheels -

Original 12 slotters (8x14) wrapped in Hankook tyres – 245 and 265.

Interior -

Everything has been re-done (minus the roof liner currently), mainly in black. All vinyl and paint was redone, new carpet etc. Dash is as original as I could keep it, minus the gauges and stereo. However, have the originals here if I ever need to put them back so no biggy. Autometer / speco gauges. Front seats are out of a Maserati (yes, they are real and soooooo very comfy), rear is a GT seat that has been sitting in storage for its whole life. And a Viper alarm w/immobiliser.

Body-

Repainted in white, majority of rust has been cut out. GT grill and bonnet, nothing overly exciting.

Stereo-

Pioneer DVD headunit w/inbuilt stacker
Type-R Splits x 4
Type-R 12” sub
Alpine 1000w mono
Alpine 1000w 4 channel
Some big capacitor

Future Plans –

Convert it to a 5 speed as the current gearbox is completely wrecked
Installing electric windows in the next few weeks on all doors and will be tinted
Have a whole bunch of chrome parts to go on still, new roof liner
Front spoiler (moustache) looking thing
Removing the column shift and getting a new steering wheel
Apart from the gearbox, I have all the above stuff here, just a matter of getting around to it.

So that’s it! Sorry if there’s too much info / pics. As you can see I’m definitely no photographer, but you get the idea. All comments welcome.

Cheers man. It was at the shop for ages while the engine was being rebuilt so I missed out a fair bit. Will be heading back out more though now, do you guys still go to Harrys?

Technically they fit without any work but they were scrubbing a bit so just rolled the guards a little bit and haven't had a problem.

Those things were terrible head_wall.gif was one of the first things I wanted to change, just had to wait for the right seats to pop up. The Maserati ones actually suit it surprisingly well.

Cheers again for all the positive comments.
