Hence the maybe, TEDA is looking into getting those dates back since DA folded as a series and now the track is 'free' if you will for that weekend. |

im confussed?? why do you have to wait to know what parts of the track will be closed for the upgrades?? The drag strip is getting ripped up, cabling under the v8 track and up and down the drag strip is getting work done on it... the whole straight will need to be off limits as wouldnt it make sense that, thats the area where construction vehicles, materials etc would be placed, not to mention the high level use of the v8 track crossing during the upgrades?? And i highly doubt WorkSafe would allow cars screaming past doing 150km/ph plus to be side by side to workers on the other side of the fence - or no fence if the concrete barriers are still waiting to be put into place... |

As far as I know everything is still on hold till after V8s and then trying to find out what parts of the track will be closed for the upgrade. This will determain if we will be able to drift whilst the upgrades are getting done. Hence the maybe, TEDA is looking into getting those dates back since DA folded as a series and now the track is 'free' if you will for that weekend. I gather you have never heard the expression of using a day in the week against its weekend? Because I was just typing off memory I didn't bother to look at the actual dates for the weekend but I did know the 15th was close to it. Here's a heads up, Last i spoke with the head of Sport and Rec and the facilities manager they will be shutting down the complex for the construction work to start on the 5th July!! TERA had to cancel a big meet they had organised for august because there will be no racing until the project is completed due to it being a construction site. |

i would say it would be closed. But Mel if you ever went to a drift meet up here you would know that there was a 100kph limit on the straight or maybe it was 80kph. Either way i am not fussed. Arrgh hum i have been to 3 drift meets at HV and two interstate so but 1. i have never heard or do i know the actual speed rules of drifting and 2. even if i did post 80kms im sure someone would've jumped on here with his tight skirt on and accused me of not liking skylines and being a v8 bogan and not supporting the sport of drifting blah blah wank wank, so just went with a figure that was safe!! And dont drifting join with NAMSC and those cars do that speed+ |

that would be 160km/h or 4th gear Im with you on that one Mitch. Turn 5 behind you is about 150ish back to second in yours but third in mine with the extra power. As for turn 10 that is also top of third. Mallala is good just need the big clutch scando with the foot brake as you slide in. |

UPDATE: The boys left Adelaide for Darwin this morning. They got 20mins down the road when the trailer started to sway......... the trailer got away from them and Matty couldn't control it. They have rolled the Triton with the trailer and drift car on the back!! Luckily they are still in the outer limits of Adelaide (Salisbury) and the cleanup has now began. The boys are ok but can't say the same for the cars! I'm flying out at lunchtime today to help organise getting everything back The main thing is the guys are ok and uninjured Scotty Dam, that sucks. Glad to hear they're OK. |
