yeah get the cruise happening.
I have upped my boost up to around 1.3bar of boost (18-20psi)
Still have a slight miss, and am going to try and gapp the plugs slightly lower.

Still have fuel to play with so can go to 22psi. Anything after that I am going to get a fuel reg.

Cams are still to be put in and on the cards to do along with shift kit. But possibly next wednesday i'll be off to the strip and see what it can do now.

pig060 - those pics of your new external gate setup looks good. unfortunate about the box. Hope to see it back on the road soon.

Blackers10 - Are you still running standard computer? I hope you have something in place to control your fuel on full noise.
Good to see another cress out on the road. Theres a fair few quick sleepers people will have to keep an eye on now. yeeooww

It has a fuel pressure reg and a 255 pump with a fuel cut defender and jaycar boost controller.
The afr's were tested to 11:1

I just need to fix the thermo fan which seems to have a loose connection where it goes into the fan motor (is a davies craig item)

and throw some tyres on the front and im good for a cruise

I'm keen for a cruise, although I will be limping along with my big-end bearing fault :wavey:

Oh and we can't go anywhere that I require to reverse, my gearbox doesn't wanna do that apparently.

Any insights? The shift from P to R drops the revs momentarily, but no movement whatsoever - possible electrical fault, or could the internals be blown?

not sure rotor head, clutch packs might have gone/on way out??? but im sure we can work something out so you dont need reverse :wavey: or we can push you hehehe. baz hows it going with more boost? much quicker? loveit - sounds good mate. just bolting in as a stocker for now??? any were you guys might want to go for a cruise?

Yeah feels like theres a bit more pull. Alot smoother then what it was before anyway.
changed the gap today, so just have to see how it goes with roughly 20psi.

yer leave as stocker for the moment,,maybe upgrade fuel and get injectors cleared out before i take it out

its your clutchs, there gone i had the same problem....... i was goin 1st 3rd 4th and 4th was slipping and no reverse was hanging my head in shame at the shops asking ppl to push me out of my car spot lol. the cressida is being worked on again systems are flowing

I have one other item that will be going on the cress.
tomei fuel reg. and then will get the inlet cam installed at the same time. Then raise the boost.

Brad (B-rad performance).
Depending how my turbo holds up, or until it blows. Im thinkin of puttin on a big mumma of a turbo next.
see how everything else goes first.

Still need to get my quick shift done. Need some holidays to get it all sorted.
I'll see if I can make it out to test and tune this wednesday though, see what mph i can do now.

my mate is taking his AU Falcon(6 cylinder with a huge cam etc and a new highstall) out this wednesday Test n Tune i think
sadly i cant make it due to work

What managment do you guys reccomend for the 1jz with auto?

I have a Greddy Profec e01 so i can add that to an E manage but i hear of some people running power FCs and then others go all out with a full haltech or vipec or what ever
I want to be able to use the car as a daily so need to think of fuel economy and reliability

depends on your tuner mate. work out who you trust to tune your car and get the ecu that they know/work with the best. im running the new wolf v500 and i must say it is a very fanzy ecu.

well since your down the coast you should go see matty spry at pits. or if you want to come up to yatla see efi performance (they tune the fastest street radial 1jz in the country. and they also tune my car.

Well its stock as, apart from a newly installed set of steel rims and some freshly polished hubcaps.

Its a 1979 MX36 Cressida wagon. auto, cold aircon and power steer. probably not quite to you guy's tastes as its a little old school.

Bought for 400 big ones from the local scrap metal guys, this thing is 90% immaculate (small body scratches, missing one badge one and or two bits missing from the interior) these idiots were going to crush the poor old bugger, lucky i saved it they are getting rare as now. unless they pick up on the small crack in the drivers tail light there nothing to stop this getting a RWC, immaculate.

short term plans are clean it up (90% done that already) get my hubbies polished up and on it (done) and get it low once regoed (within the next month) then a stereo.

Long term get something in there to make it move good and proper, ive always been a massive fan of the lexus 4l v8, and ive seen one installed into a MX32 sedan so its doable. unless theres some sort of frickin cross member that will allow a j motor swap. knowing toyotas there probably is but i haven't found anything yet, and if i'm gonna fabricate mounts and stuff i'm not putting a 6 potter in there.

anyways if my old wagon isnt too old and unsophisticated enough for yas id love to tag along on a cruise.

awesome! then dont forget to pm me if something gets organised and i miss it.

already done my first performance mod, fitted a massive trans cooler i got from u pull it for 20 bucks lol. the stock one is tiny :D

So I went to Test and tune.
Did slightly better then I managed the previous time.
60ft was 2.8 with a 14.1 at 112mph. Obviously if I could get that 60ft down to 2.0 , would be nearly a second off and would equate to nearly 2 seconds at the end.
Havent got my quick shift done either so that should increase the mph with quicker changes. Hopefully next time I head down I will have the reg setup, more boost and cam installed and possibly shift kit.

Bit disappointed with the mph. Was hoping with more, but I guess there are other factors that come into play.

mate of mine was there in his blue AU falcon with black guards ran a 14.6 with a big cam and tune 3" exhaust 3" intake 2800rpm stall and slicks

did you just have NO traction off the line??

blackers10- didnt get a chance to watch alot of cars tonight, I was waiting alot and annoyed with mph. haha
Wasn't a problem with traction. I dont think I could of spun the wheels if I tried with the standard stall. Unless I got the wheels spinning before I took off. haha

Pig060- Yeah standard stall which is useless with the t66. Roughly got boost around 18-20psi.
next day off i'll get the other stuff sorted out. slowly getting there.
Car runs smooth as though happy with how it runs. Cant wait for next little mods though (fat kid in a candy shop)

What do you guys reckon with a t88 turbo on 2jz?
Just I can get my hands on a brand spanker for fairly cheap, wouldnt have to run major boost, and would look awesome haha.

once you get a bigger stall ull drop times alot i reakon. my 60" was just as bad with a 35r (1.06) but i had 3.08 gears in my commodore back then. t88 is pretty big but depends how fussy you are with lag i guess. you would be better of with custom cams to bring on boost with such a big turbo. really just better to ask yourself what you want out of your car? looks? go? my tuner has a gt47 sitting under the bench that i want lol but would be to big for what i want my car for. but f$%k it would look mad hanging of the side of a 2j ^_^ i never realised how big a 47 looks until its of a car sitting under a bench. makes my 35r look like a factory turbo.

haha yeah. Big fan of lag though. just the waiting...... then bang its on haha.
My car is mostly just going to be a cruiser/sleeper. bit of a daily. Then the odd drag day or dyno etc.
Also just love the reaction of people when the bonnet is popped up. Ahhh yesss! haha

but yeah I think i'll get the us cam installed, fuel reg put on, quick shift, little more boost. see how it performs.
BA rotors and r33 calipers are on the list to do aswell.

should have it all done near end of may hopefully. see what happens
