Won the auction for the one I was spying on ebay.

92 X2 Manual with 130k's in good condition for $420! Bargain

Hopefully will have another joining the ranks soon

Quick question, do the rules allow for a stock twincam motor to be retrofitted into the older vehicles?

Also, reserving a number??? what do I need to do there? Jeff, if you're reading this, can number 15 be held for me while I am prepping the car? (sign writing, wheels, suspension, etc etc etc)

92 X2 Manual

Hey hey another X2, now I don't feel so lonely!!!

To reserve a number PM or email me your real name and I will put it against the number 15 for you.

I dont see a problem with a retrofit as long as its an Excel engine.
anybody else have an issue with fitting a late excel engine in an early body ?

format will probably be different from last time.
less training and more open testing, flat fee for the day with no separate tnt in the afternoon.
I still need to sort out a few details before I can confirm everything.

Cheers.

Might be a difficult job as the orientation of the engine gearbox is the opposite way round.

Chunk

Yeah, just got informed of that myself at this side, looks to be a bigger job than what it is worth to do the change.

Numbers updated on TA website.

My internet has gone down due to the rain.
currently sitting at maccas using their wifi

I cant currently reply to emails, but i can receive them.

Rhys, to answer your question, just enter the car twice and we will sort it out from there.
thursdays are usually very quiet at lakeside, maybe 30 odd cars.

cheers Jeff

QR has a general practice on Friday

trackattack
Post #994

There is open practise the day before every race meeting.
Saturday before Topgear Racing and Friday's before QRDC
I think the next practice at LP is the 22nd May
There are also midweek sprints if you want some quiet track time

If you guys want Tyres dont forget to ask me to confirm the price before ordering
We can often do special prices for Our Track Attack Drivers.

I also now have the Federal Medium Compound FZ201 Semi's
Can do better than list for our guys.

Cheers Jeff

Well Pork Hunt are going to be at Lakeside tomorrow for a practice day. Quickest time we've done so far is 72, hoping to go faster tomorrow.

We finally, after 3 events, got a wheel alignment - we were running TWO INCHES of toe in at the front, the back left had about an inch of toe in and camber was all over the shop. Looking forward to seeing how it feels now.

The excels have kicked off bigger at Lakeside first, but qld raceway excels will start to kick off now that a couple are starting to go.
Also, entry fee's at Qld Raceway are cheaper than Lakeside.

Just remember you can do the Top Gear big weekend which is Saturday practice, Saturday arvo sprints and the racing on Sunday.
I think you get a discount if you do all of them.
Jeff you may want to confirm this.
Cheers Paul

I will definitely have one car ready,
I have a lot of the gear here ready to fit to the excel, but time is a killer at the moment.

Yeah its cheaper to enter the 3 events for the weekend on one entry than enter the 3 of them separately ($320, late entries not accepted).
Circuit Racing entry is $200 if you get in early or $240 late

What date is the cut off for the big weekend, can I pay and decide later what car I'm going to run.

1 week before, so entry form in on the 15th. swapping cars shouldn't be a problem, class will be the same QR sedans.
