Cheers, also forgot to ask, are the numbers good to go for those racing for the first time this weekened? Should be - Richard from AMS is making them up for us, so unless I stuffed up and forgot to ask for one they should be ready. There are always tape on numbers to use at the track if need be. |

Damn that's a big field for Sunday. Really, really wish I could make it. Make that 17 Excels on the final list It would be a great help to me if you guys could get your entries in earlier in the week the time keepers like to get all of the cars into the computer as early as possible. Thanks for a great turnout, Its going to be fun Cheers Jeff Track Attack |

Well I am stuffed for tomorrow, blew another tyre on the trailer and non of the spares have a big enough center hole to fit on the late model hubs. Best I could get out of the old girl today was a 72, those semi slicks are just too grippy for my current tyres to compete with..... maybe next time ! I had a few dramas today, first lap of the first run the front indicator came loose and I got black flagged first lap of the second run got an oil surge and made a big puff of smoke coming onto the front straight and got black flagged. OK lets make a oil catch can out of some hose and an old brake fluid bottle Third and fourth runs went well Looking forward to getting some suspension and tyres onto the old girl ! ok awesome. while i agree due to the situation you are put in, this should be announced on the registration part when you sign up (if not already done so). will see you guys out there tomorrow...!! mate's bringing this 180sx i want to crack into below 72sec 180sx should do 64s |

jeff, is the excel running ok?? do you need any parts for tomorrow (lakeside)?? if so, just holla out i have a few trailer spare parts, if you need some call me 0400 083 830 to see if i have anything lying about The Excel is fine, just a bit of oil surge which a lot of cars suffer from at QR. Its not so much of an issue at Lakeside as the corners dont flip flop like the QR sprint circuit. The problem with the trailer is that the hubs are late mode commodore and the spare wheels I have have a smaller center hole. Dont worry about today, I will bring the video camera and shoot trackside footage |

jus lookin into the series do you think we could tie in the junior races 14-17 into the excel series. I mean if we have excels also : ) Yes that was one of the options that I was looking into. I was thinking that we could keep a separate point score for the junior drivers. So if there are enough Excel juniors we do a Excel Juniors point score. If we are short on driver numbers we could do a combined juniors 4-banger & excel class. cheers Jeff |

I keep hearing the word "Race" used. |

He's ok, no cage, happened on the warm up lap not at race pace and rolled a far way into the gravel trap so would have washed alot of speed off. I keep hearing the word "Race" used. A quick note to all those that are currently driving or those that intend on driving. At this point most guys are entering our SPRINT rounds, not our RACE events. There is a difference between the two events. At a sprint event there is no passing, unless on you are on a straight OR you are waved to pass by the car in front. Currently we have the mentality that these sprint events are race days. We have had a number of occasions now where people are diving in on the inside into corners and generally driving as if they are in a RACE. Sprint days are designed for you the driver to race yourself and your time, not others on the track. There are no points given and awarded for the position in which you finish the only points awarded is to the person with the quickest time at the end of the day. Therefore you have a minimum of 20 laps to set ONE fast time. If you want to race, enter a race event; do not enter a SPRINT event with the intention of racing. To enter a race you will require the following as a MINIMUM - - Roll Cage - Fire Extinguisher - Race Suit - Helmet - Gloves - Enclosed Shoes - AASA National licence Most of you guys currently hold a AASA Clubman licence. This licence only allows you entry to our sprint events. To be eligible to gain a National licence you have to take part in a minimum of 4 sprint/practice events. During these events you will be observed to make sure you are safe for racing. Driving in a sprint event like you would in a race is not showing you are a safe driver. Adhering to the rules and showing you are alert and considerate of others on the track is. While I appreciate you are all out there to have fun (and so you should be!) safety is a big issue with the way SOME of the Excel drivers are driving. Bunching up the group in a sprint round to get closer driving/racing is not on (hence the additional briefing). In short... If you want to race, go to a race event (we hold plenty of them). If you want to practice your lines, improve your times, learn the car in a safe way enter the sprints. If any one has questions or concerns I'm able to answer any problems you may have. I am out in the office at Queensland Raceway most days. My number is 5461 9100 Sorry wrong wording He was not up to "sprint" pace when he crashed |

Hey Neil, QUOTE Sprints are based on your best time, not track position, so there is no need for aggressive passing maneuvers, in fact passing is only allowed on the straights. Sprints are often Called "Time Attack" or "Superlap" sessions. We have Circuit Racing coming in May, so if your keen get your cars up to scratch with Roll Cages etc More details on sprints - http://www.trackattack.com.au/sprints More details on circuit racing - http://www.trackattack.com.au/racing |

There was 2 briefings at least that explained all the above? One in particular for the excel drivers alone which outlined that bunching up to promote close "racing" was not on... |
