oh so you have the safc already in it hey??? you really should put a gauge in to see how much boost you are running. the smallest amount mine would run was 13psi and that was enough to hit the boost cut. either way im going after market ecu now so i dont have the boost and speed cut issues any more. |

well got the car up and running last night with my new ecu in. had abit of trouble setting up the base map and getting it to start with bigger injectors/fuel pressure and timing etc. much louder then i was hoping but i can always add another muffler . just got to set up a few small things then get it on the dyno early next week. not going to get max hp out of it yet until i drive it to make sure every thing is happy and wear afew new parts in. so hoping to be driving it by next weekend. |

I ended up taking the car to test and tune last night, just to see how the car is going at the moment. |

bazr33- sweet yeah when i had mine in my commodore it was around the 3 sec 60fotter lol but that was with standed stall and 3.08 diff gears. if your going to get a stall dont get a 2800 like alot of other guys do i reakon they are a waste of time. get at least a 3200-3500. what boost was the 102mph run? |

pig060- i dont have a boost gauge still yet( just bought one), but i had the boost controller off so was probably standard boost. The 2nd run i turned the controller on and came on fairly hard until the pipe popped off. |

yeah ive heard from a few other guys that the 3500 is fine on the street. i had a 2800 and could not really even tell. yeah cant wait to get mine going . sway bars on cressy are very small so you might want to do some thing with that to help with body roll. there is a guy on cressida forums that makes up a braket so you can run 2 standed ones which will stiffen it up alot and alot cheaper then buying an after market one of the shelf??? |

iv got a 3500 you dont tell its not like you try at take off and you wont move til you hit 3500, stalle only works when you put your foot on the break and rev like your trying to do a skid otehr then that it'l feeel normal, um my cressy is just sitting no idea |

pete is an awesome tuner the car isnt booked in he is doin it in his free time for me, doin me a major favor just goin over it all, pete is the sort of tuner that won't let a car go unless he is happy with it so im just letting him do his thing |

fare enough at least it will be done right. will be good to see it out again. im still having trouble with mine holding boost but should have it sorted out soon. anyone know how to make the steering not so light? mine is super light and is abit scarey when im in third/forth gear full noise hehehe. |

nar havnt been down to the work shop since saturday. i think the best way for me to control the boost is to run the gate of the turbo housing (best place for it anyway). the engine is running so efficient with the new manifold and bigger exhaust that the gate cant get it out quick enough. we thought it may have been the manifold not working right so we took it of and modifed it to except more air to the gate but that still didnt work. so ill just put the gate on the turbo housing and should be sweet. once i get it sorted then yeah ill be stright up to the track. but my power steering is way to light and gets scarey from about 3rd gear onwards so im going to have to do something about it to give me some fell back in the wheel. i can turn it with just my pinkey lol thats how light it is. BAZR33- why not just get cam gears instead of playing with the usdm camsharft??? how much difference will it make do you know??? |

The lift on the usdm camshaft is 8.33 instead of the standard jdm cam is 7.85 |

yeah my 60 footer with standed stall was around the same. you wouldn't be hitting speed cut if your only getting 106mph. im pretty sure the speed cut is 180kph which is about 111mph. if your hitting that speed at half track then your car is going pretty good what is your speed at half track??? |

well last friday night we got the boost to kinda hold between 16-18psi until i move the wastegate onto the turbo housing. it made 411rwhp with the limiter set at 6500 with it still very rich in the 10's. so im pretty happy with that for a stock 2j with bolt on's. im thinking i might go to the track with this tune and see how it goes then pull it apart to move the gate for the final tune with more boost and limiter set much higher. its so hard not to hit the limiter and i keep for getting to change gears before i hit it but im sure ill get use to it for now. BAZR33- interested in coming up to the track one night soon for abit of a play? |
