guessing single cam? wahts it need for a rwc?

Hoybo
Post #214

Single cam yes.

You don't need a RWC for this event.

For a road car, I'm not sure. Front tyres most likely from what I see.

A few people have been asking about 15" wheels to make tyres easier to get
and to improve handling with lower profile tyres.
apparently quite a few of the cars already have 15" wheels !

is there any major objection to this ?

wasas
Post #216

need to have a max width on the tyre, say 205/50/15??
this size keeps the rolling diam simialar to stock for those that plan to have the POS road reg so we can drive it there and home.

also there are heaps on ebay for cheap. :D and you can get them in ku 36's...

I thought the only restrictions on rubber was they had to be non race tyres?

we were going to try to stick with 13" wheels but this is counter productive if its costing people money.

so 15" wheels definitely allowed
that lets people run 205 x 50 x 15 KU36
which should work really well on these little beasties.

RACE NUMBERS

We are currently making a list of series registered numbers on the Excel Racing page - http://www.trackattack.com.au/excel
When you register for your first sprint day if the number you put on your entry is available we will make those numbers and given enough notice will have them ready for you for your first event.
These are permanent race numbers that you can put on both sides of your cars and leave them there.

We need to thank AMS for making the numbers and Real Dyno Performance for sponsoring the numbers.

Cheers Jeff

Good call on the tyres Jeff,
I'm led to beleive that later 15 inch Acsent rims will fit with a slight mod.
Cheers Paul

Has this been integrated with the QR and Lakeside Sprints system ? When I was doing
sprint days I had to cover up any other numbers on the car other than the one they give you.

Ok mate just to confirm things (taken from the track attack forum)
The 7th is not for points, just more a test day yes? The actual series will begin on the 14th of March?
If so, has anyone registered for the 14th as yet?

does this seem to be a bit of contradiction::::::

"•Any tyre that is designated as a race tyre or on a race tyre list is not permitted" from the rules,

and then this from the Kumho website regarding the KU36

"Designed for SCCA racing...................."

??????

wasas
Post #225

yeah but its not a R spec, nor is it a proper semi slick. its a high performance street.
Think of it as a control tyre

Good street tyre not a semi, gives great bang for your buck.

just saw this seems pretty fucking tempting. Although if I go ahead it'll be sprints only due to prep for circuit.

Anyone running rego'd ones?

wasas
Post #231

"team pork hunt racing" will be running a road rego'd excel for this, planning to do all the circuits but will have to miss on a few of the sprints. still looking for the right car to come up, and payday.

In other words properly keen.

Paul is on board to build the cages ,no worries.
cages are only required for the circuit racing, not the sprinting.

This sounds like a bloody fantastic idea! I'll be watching this and hopefully get into it later in the year, or next year if its on again!

Wonder if mum will let me borrow her excel....

Stripped the car yesterday, did the air intake, spark plugs, oil......get onto the exhaust and suspension and we should be almost there. Couldn't believe it when it spun in first and second

If this list is correct excel is PCD 114.3
so this is your mag wheel guide

PRELUDE 1992 ON 4 X 114.3

They have the same stud pattern but are proving a bitch to get on. Centre hole isn't quite wide enough so needs a bit of work.

newsky06
Post #245

TRACKATTACK.

most of those wheels wont fit, as the center bore of the rim would be to small for it to fit over the hub on the excel. thats for factory mags and steel wheels. after market wheels shouldnt be a be a problem.

excels seem to have much larger hubs then other small cars.
