I ran a 9.96 @ 138mph in my ED xr8 on the weekend , It has a stock short block with aftermarket heads cam manifold etc. and I 'm running twin E-bay turbo's as this is a budget project, I still run the stock 4speed BTR auto as i still drive this on the street and a few weeks ago I drove it from Gladstone to Palmyra race way in Mackay (app. 450klm one way) raced it running a new pb at the time of 10.46 @ 132mph then drove it home. Here's a couple of pic's of the set up

Mate, being a "nobody on here is better than being known. It usually means you are out at the track or on the spanners acheiving shit rather than posting on here talking shit about "oh I did this, my car can run this but only on c144 race fuel"

So congrats on getting out there and showing everyone how it's done.

very good time, what power was it making? about 600hp? i dare say your bottom end and or drivetrain will meet a very very dismal end launching like that often enough:P

These guys know what they are doing mate.

Can't think of 2 guys I would rather have tuning my new engine either.

Brett, what MPH did you end up running? How fast should this thing go by that speed?

the last meeting for the year up here at benaraby was on a stinking hot day and the track didn't like it, it was very slippery so the ET didn't reflect the new mph PB that i set with even more boost screwed into the old girl, the best time I did was a 9.98 but a massive 142mph.

with 13.5 psi the xr8 made 650 rwhp on our dyno and ran 10.12 @ 136.8mph with that much boost, 142mph with my car weighing app 3450lbs works out to be about 720-730 moroso hp, Trick and Mansweto say to add app 8% to the moroso hp to get what thier engine dyno reads, on a better track it should have gone in the 9.7's as I have been running app 2 1/2 tens off what the moroso say's I should et for my mph, 142 mph is in the high 9.4's.

Once I have finished playing around with these stock blocks I have a 380 cube Dart short block in the build, with some much better heads then I have now a solid roller , bigger turbo, Motec Ecu etc and I will going for well over 1000 rwhp and some 8sec ET's, and still drive it out to the track LOL

I know Brett doesn't get on here much but I think boost was up around 18-19 psi. He runs aluminum cylinder heads and I believe they are Edelbrock items. Compression is a bit higher too, if I recall around 9 or 9.5:1. Very impressive numbers from what he was working with but it's a credit to his tuning ability.

My heads are AFR 165's and my comp is 10.4 to 1 and on that 9.96 @ 137.8 mph pass my boost was 14.5 psi, I have gone 141.9 mph with 16.5 -17 psi but couldn't get traction that day best ET was a 9.98.

The turbo's that I'm using are the T70 e-bay ones, They have a 56mm inducer and I would say they would be good for app 450-500hp each.

Thats fricken awesome mate. Are you running at least a shift kit or tranny cooler for the gearbox. Also what engine management are you running?

The mods to the auto are pretty basic I don't think there is much that can be done to these BTR 4 speed's with out some major work, It has a commodore S5 shift solenoid and increased line pressure, A shift kits .com.au shift module, Xr6 turbo bands and AUxr8 clutchs, a 3700 convertor with no lock up clutch and yes it has a big cooler.

The ECU that I'm using is a Factory EECiv out of a mustang so I still use a Maf, I use a device called a Quarterhorse to tune it, I was using the stock ECU but it packed it in last year and the mustang ecu was the only spare I had, all the pin out's where almost the same.

impressive effort . i'm guessing you won't be using the btr for the new engine
