Just curious all, living on Mt Tamborine with the front lip of my car scrapes if I put it into our driveway, so it's usually parked on the street or on the front lawn, where it can get still next to the road. My parents cars both ford falcons scrape on the driveway, its just the way it was designed which is crap. Was curious does anyone know of someone / a company that designs custom made ramps to get the car into the driveway? If I could get it into the driveway, then it can be garaged. I have spoken to some companies, however none of them custom design ramps. Heres a photo of the driveway. Thanks -------------------- Have a tablespoon of concrete and harden the fuck up. |

Well I can get it into the driveway sometimes without scraping, its just any angle it has a 99% chance it will, usually just lucky if it doesn't. |

Well I can get it into the driveway sometimes without scraping, its just any angle it has a 99% chance it will, usually just lucky if it doesn't. It's more starting to worry me as storm season seems to be approaching, hail with the car outside would just screw it, and any car outside when its hailing is just bad news. I've been looking at rubber ramps all of that stuff, however its not just the angle its only the front part of the car that hits, so what I'm thinking is if I have something that is around 3 feet of the driveway that can go out onto the road, thats portable? That'd be a good solution, just not to sure what material. I reckon if I can put a 3 feet sheet of metal, or something that it could be designed properly, then i'd be able to get the front tyre starting to help the front move up in the air, rather then just a straight crunch into it. Just rung the council to see what they reckon, they'll be getting back to me, but its just stupid how some of the driveways even in non-hilly parts of the mountain have been designed, car sucidice. Every time you pull in and out of the drive away who is the unlucky one that has to get out, drag the sheet metal or ramps or whatever, put them in place, and then remove them? So much effort for something that requires a simple solution. Find something like that and problem solved. Just make sure that you are not blocking the drain way or they are permanently fixed. |

i rekon just grab a piece of 7-10mm plate steel 350mm-450mm wide by 2.5 metres long and take 6-9 tiles out of the drive way and replace with concrete with a bolt sticking out once the concrete is set grab 3 nuts like the ones in the picture and drill holes in the sheet metal where the bolts will go through it and stick those nuts on the top (so they wont damage tyres) and the metal will stay there and you wont scrap out and if you do scrap out it will slide on the steel not grab rip and tear |

what kind of angle? get as close to the gutter and full lock? So you're basically just parking the car on the side of the road with the leading tyre pretty much touching the gutter. Then turn the wheel and drive up on an angle. After the first wheel is up you'll be fine. EDIT: Epic paint skills to the rescue lol |
