but even a mod as simple as an exhaust on a aurion would make it over the limit for P platers, as its right on the 200kw limit already, but something thats only got say 180-190kw could have a few little things here and there, and the cop won't be able to tell how much extra kw's it actually has more over stock |

the threads getting a little stray, the FASTEST p plate leagle car, and people are putting up commodore and xr6??.. yeah there good for 15's!! S2000, GOLF R32, LOTUS ELISE, AUDI TT V6. there's a few there that would rip the fuck out of a commodore or xr6 in every way. exept price, but as far as it goes, state's fastest car, not cheapest or value for money or fuel ecomomy or overall kw. |

yeah but the question is p-plate car i have never really seen a p plater drive a s2000 or gti gold haha but its true what you say. Agreed yeah, there's not many, but mainly the fact that they are leagle for us to drive, me for instance was tossing up between an elise, s2000 and golf r32. and will be looking into buying a golf R32 at the end of the year. mx6's don't go to bad, and are just as cheap as a commodore or xr6. handle alot better too. there not the first thing that pops into mind but there good for what they are. FWD is a bitch though. |

I reckon the szR late model with 6spd and i 'think' vvti or not must haul arse. Even so couple of breathing mods, zorst and tune would be respectble on the street. |

I'm going to throw the 147 & 156GTA's into the mix as well. They will well and truely run with a modded WRX. Which I found surprising when I raced a mate in his MY05 with intake & ECU mods. boost cruising should have a P plater eligable car drag off. Where to enter you run your car at a test and flog. And scan your timeslip in and yeah see who has the fastest poosar, 6 cyl commy and falco, NA supra, silvia ect and the winner gets nothing but boost glory haha. Obviously with pic of car with drag number for serious competitor EDIT: beter then racing on street or racing mates off lights ect and the time slip tells all. $38 gets you and a passenger in at willowbank |

How does your mates civic go against an actual fast car though? Beats most soarers even 1j's, modded Skylines, destroys monaro's and most other cars. Agreed Every see a silver S2000 around brisbane had the plates 666ISJ. My mate was 18 when he owned it. Just because you haven't seen or know somebody who owns one doesn't mean its not true. |

Lol a p-plater QR/Willowbank day would actually be interesting. I'd probably go watch the shenanigans It would be kool i reckon stripped V and E series chariots, sr20 pulsars with faties on front, lasers BP's, hondas but no engine swaps. It would get people doing the lil tricks with custom CAI intakes, light weight ect and must of all fun ahah wich would be reasonably cheap!! also racing round QR would be sick too. |

The point I was making is STi's aren't considered quick when they are stock, although they are getting quicker each year. And 2 door commodores are big and heavy and slow too. Civics can be reasonably quick because they are so light, I will give you that though |

The point I was making is STi's aren't considered quick when they are stock, although they are getting quicker each year. And 2 door commodores are big and heavy and slow too. Civics can be reasonably quick because they are so light, I will give you that though Never said it was stock =P. but yeah i'd expect more from an sti. The Sti does have an exhaust system and cold air intake and thats it so far. Also raced the new hatchback wrx's twin turbo. Kept up to that on straights but got owned on corners. As to be expected |

I know for a fact that standard DC5S Integras keeps up with near standard 2006 WRXs, V35 Skyline's (350Z engine), Mini Cooper S (turbo), VE SV6's. |

Do you mean the Ford engines are better across the range, or are are you comparing specific models? Regardless i would have to disagree. My old bog stock(basically) VN V6 would beat stock BA/BF falcons at the lights. Even say VZ vs BF ive noticed that the commodore will usually win. Do the BF have a paddle shift with the semi auto? What model ford made that Nm figure, the XR6 or what? I doubt at 24 years old its still making that power however. That is a bog stock 1995 ef falcon gli mate... the xr6 make more with the tickford engine. First gear in a commodore is higher usually, thats the only reason they may just win off the lights bog stock vs bog stock. I dunno bout vz vs bf but I find it hard to believe. The new falcon make 391 nm I think by memory. My old ef eats vs,vt,vx for breakfast with just an xr6 diff and a exhaust. BTW 1995 is only 14 years ago..., Top gear raced falcon and commodore basic models and the ford won both times, only thing holden won was the brakes. Yeah the ba, bf and fg have the paddle shift auto. Still gunna be sluggish off the lights being auto tho. |

yup, the xr was 164 kw I think and the xr 8 was 168. Then in the el they upgraded the 8 to over 170. |

Coilovers and cheap should never be in the same sentence. You pay for what you get! I agree completely, but Pedders do a set that are quiet cheap and ive only heard good reviews. Its possible to get some that are just good old value for money. I'll have to agree that Ford do well in the 6cylinder department. good 6 or bad 8? |
