Passengers are only allowed at the following days:

NAMSC fun days
TEDA private practice days (may come into question if we don't keep our shit together)

Just got back from the event. Happy to be home before midnight (just). :mamoru: Was a great night, with some outstanding talent shown.

There was talk of around 1,500 people coming through the gate, which is a very good sign. A few organisational teething problems to be worked out, but nothing too serious from what I could see, especially given it's the first event. The crowd seemed to have a good time.

Can't say enough how impressive some of the driving was. I was really worried when you were all practising, as it was looking a bit shitty then. :hsdance: But come qualifying and battle, it was phenomenal!

BTW, it sucked that it was a bit of a Nissan fest, with the HQ, RX7, and Gemini being the only non-Nissan powered cars. That's nothing wrong with the guys that entered - just means others out there with other brands of car need to get their act together - needs moar Toyota!!!

Zmit
Post #988

^^^^ agreed!

pics will be up in about an hour....
(not too many this time though :mamoru:)

How's the new camera at night Timmy?

Zmit
Post #990

a lot better.....
but still.... night just kills any camera....
(except the Canon 1d..... but thats like $8g just for the body)

so the photos are a LOT worse than normal.... but thats life.
using a flash completely changes the dynamics again...

on another note....
feel sorry for Ben (HYPOV6) in the white cefiro :mamoru:
that was a very hard hit....

Bugger me - HYPOV6 is that Ben. I'm slowly putting faces & real names to Boost usernames... and then promptly forgetting them. :hsdance:

Great night,

probably biggest thing i noticed from the whole night is that the entry speed into turn one magically doubled at one point.

Quinton got some good shots, sucks that it started blurring when it got dark.

HYPO, were you driving the S13 with the 180 front end missing the bumper?

And Q got some good a great shot of BJ whoever that is

BALSAK
Post #996

That post should be in the NT drift section bro..... No worries though. I'll post the pics as soon as I upload them to photobucket - just makes things easier.

Also, could HYPO and MITCH please let me know exactly know what cars they were driving so I can put the pics up?

I got photo's of a few R32's, dunno which one is MITCH seeing as they're all black - HYPO I'm not sure, but judging by the Classifieds ad you had (S13 - 180) I would think you're the guy with the greenish S13 with a missing bumper - I think it fell off in Mitchell Street while you were searching for the ladies :(

Nah you're not going on at all, I' agree with most of your suggestions, most smoke, best angle, most improved etc etc - that would actually motivate the driver a tad more.

Overall it was a great night - although I didn't stay the whole night, I enjoyed it the while I was there.

Just gotta make sure who drove what so I can print/post pics.

haha just noticed my previous posts..... sorry, had a few drink when I got home, thought this was the Cruising Thread for some reason.

Damn I'm dumb.

HypoV6 is both ben and jay.

Ben was the only person to get air for the night (poor bugger hit the wall in the ceffy)

Jay is in the onevia being the s13 180 front

Congratulations to all involved - it was odd but great to see that many cars/people packing into the corner at HV last night!!

The sport is growing in leaps and bounds and doesn't look like stopping anytime soon.

was a good crowd, bec recons it was better than the drags as the heats were flowing on nicely and there was NO LONG DELAYS BETWEEN RACING (timing gear, lights, computer etc.... HVDA are really going to have to start lifting there game or i can see you will lose out big time to TEDA)

very well done guys, and excelent commentary by Danny

I've just uploaded photos from the TEDA practice session last Saturday.

This includes a couple of photos of the RX-7 going into the wall right in front of me (unfortunately with my 70-300 lens on I was too close with the zoom)

I haven't uploaded photos from last night yet, but I'll do that shortly.

Mitch - [DORIR32]
Jay - Green Onevia [DPIG]

just in case you missed it...

and on a side note....
Spud, the other commentator just got the list of people about an hour before it all started.... i think Kudos should go to him for getting in to it as well...
he hasnt exactly done much drifting commentary before..

You're obviously blind, I was standing a ~10-15 meters away from you at one stage.

I was between the judges 'stand' and the light tower, in the "restricted zone". You were on the other side of the tower, but by the time the finals finished and I was leaving you had already gone.

Was a great night and their will be more to be had in the near future I think after last nights efforts.

Their was a few DJ mates of mine over near the canteen maybe we might have the to set up a bigger system next time but not bad for our FIRST and biggest event to date.

Thanks to everyone how help and for the crowd its was an amazing night.

The guy driving the 180 with the Ozzy Tyres stickers up the sides got air twice. Big air. Very impressive, but I wouldn't want to be the one cleaning his pants afterwards.

I agree that it was an awesome night, allthough I only stayed till just after the sun went down.

Well done guys.

With the photo's, I haven't got them off the camera yet, seeing as my hard drive is in the office, so when dad gets back, and IF he remembers to bring it, I'll post some photo.

Obviuosly, they're not as good as Tim's photo's, but there's a few that turned out really good - even if I have to say so myself.

But yea, I've got a great shot of Jay in the onevia, and one of BJ that I'm really happy with.

I'll post the best pics of every car, then you guys can let me know who wants prints, and what size :(
