 Amp Wont Turn Off When The Car Is Turned Off?

when i turn off my car my head unit and everything else turns off apart from the blue light on my amp. any ideas on ho to fix this problem?

is your amp hooked onto your ACC?

Is the amp wired to the amp on power wire from the headunit or straight to battery? Is there a possibility that there is a strand of wire from the battery wire touching the amp on terminal on the amp?

If none of the above you might have an internal problem in your amp or headunit. To check if its not the headunit get a test light, disconnect the amp on wire from the amp and touch the amp on wire coming from the headunit to see if there is power coming out.

triss, how the hell do you hook a amp to the ACC, i think you're talking about a headunit. the subwoofers are connected and run by the headunit therefore it should turn off when the headunit turns off smile.gif

protius, yeh its a straight cable from the battery to the amp. but i dont get what you mean by "Is there a possibility that there is a strand of wire from the battery wire touching the amp on terminal on the amp?", because isn't it supposed to.

have you run your remote wire off a constant power source?

Yea, im thinking remote wires been run from somewhere other then the remote wire off the headunit, so instead of the headunit turning off, therefor turning the amp off the amps just getting power threw the remote constantly so staying on.

Call it 'Remote wire' guys 'Amp on' is really confusing, especially in the context you're putting it in.
OT: Start again. There should be a really thin wire, possibly blue, or black, running to one of the same terminal block as your +ve and -ve on your amp, make sure that's connected to your 'Remote' wire on the back of your H/U.
If that's correct, your H/U may be at fault, turn your keys to off position and take them out, put a multi meter on the 'Remote' wire on the back of your headunit, or your amp, wherever is easy (providing it's connected correctly)

What he means is, you have the power wire from the battery, that connects to the postive terminal on the amp, and right next to that terminal, you've to the remote wire, if any part of your power wire is touching the terminal next to it, it will turn the amp on.
