Hi guys I'm new to the forum, I have had a decent bit of experience with car audio, but I have just come into a problem I've nver heard of before. I have a Toyota Hiace with, Pioneer DEH-P4050 Headunit Pioneer 2ch 760W amp (powering 2 Pioneer 12in subs) Fusion PowerPlant 4ch 800W amp (speakers) Kicker 6 in Splits (front) Kenwood 6in 3-ways (rear) I am getting bad static through the speakers with the ignition on, then once the car is started the static goes alot louder and goes very high pitched, and rises with the engine revs. The bloke at the shop where I bought the gear from was able to reduce it significantly by slpicing a wire into the negative side of the RCA preouts and running off to an earth. But the noise was still noticable. I jave since replaced the RCA leads with quality sheilded ones, and have changed the earths on the amp and headunit, this made no difference. I have also tried swapping the amps, I tried it with a crappy old Altec 4ch and the noise was still there, then I tried an old Kenwood KAC-923 2ch amp (4 speakers bridged), which worked perfectly no problems. Then I re-tried both the Altec and the Fusion 4ch with both I still got the high pitch noise. I am all outta ideas, can anyone help me ? I really want to run the speakers off the Fusion 4ch. Cheers |

Cheers My first thoughts, but maybe not. Try a headunit swap, you never know. |

If you've got access to one, try swapping the headunit with something different, you'll likely find your problem will disappear. ROCK ON R~R right on the money, but something caused it in the first place.... i would be tripple checking earthing before swapping the head unit |
