most of the time a letter from your editor will help u out or proof u shoot for a magazine

hahah im fare from fit... i need to start riding my bike more so i dont get so tired lugging gear around from point to point.

Yeah letter from editior usually is quite powerful. But dont for one second think u need media access to take good photos. Im deadly serious about that comment as well

yeha thats true, media pass isnt everything. i was just asked how you get them is all. ive only done a couple private track events where there is only club members and track staff there, so you can go anywhere you want

Autosalon, The Circuit, few websites, few online blogs and some advertisments.

You dont need to have been published to apply and be accepted, Im sure it helps but i know of people who havent been published and have it.

I think it has alot to do with attitude and your business plan

Interesting, thanks. I didn't apply this year because I was under the impression you had to have motorsport photographs printed in the last 12 months (I was aware you could go back 3 years for photographs).

The other, and largest, reason was I've not shot many CAMS events this past year (drift series, V8SC and a rally). Most of the stuff I've been doing is ANDRA or that other lot (opposition to CAMS).

Ah well, with 2-3 rounds of V8SC and full rally, drift, hill climb and motorkhana series' all run under CAMS I should have some material, lol.

Nah i would of thought u would of been fine, most of my stuff isnt under cams... i even chucked a drag racing shot in aswell... but i put alot of effort into my business plan as i need to do one for myself anywayl..

But another thing that you should consider is do you really need it??? being under the circle work banner im guessin accreditiation comes quite easily???

Main reason i went for it was to help me get Accred as i dont have a name for myself if you know what i mean??

Yeah I probably would have been fine. I have all my business planning stuff done too (own/manage two of my own businesses).

I would like to have it. I have had some promotors ask for it. I've gotten accreditation anyhow (shooting for big magazines helps), but even with $20mil PL insurance and a spotless reputation it is still hard sometimes.

Yes CW makes it easier, but I have only used that 'pull' once.

I know exactly what you mean though.

I had the itich to shoot so i went out to oran park for 3 hours inbetween a busy weekend... spent most of the time socilising with mark on here lol... Lighting was shit, layouts where shit, photos turned out pretty shit lol but still had fun lol

Looks like oran will be open all of next year.

I think something everyone should note is, even though Matt now has a 40D, he's still rockin' an 18-55 kit lens which is something I think makes his shots even more special, he's not out with 10 kilo of L glass, boy is shooting with what is effectively the least desirable lens in Canons line-up and he's wowing us all.

thanks Nick, when i still had the 350d, 18-55 was giving me grief with white balance with an ND filter on but with the 40d its fine, just under exposes some times???

anyway its now gone to the bottem of my upgrade list
