Well after being a slave to lightroom for 6 hours ive finally finished the photos i took on monday, was a great day out at oran park gp circuit club guys.... i had abit of a different approach to the day, i had the intention on pushing sales so from 9am till 2pm i shot super conserative to ensure i had lots of shots of everyone... and too be honest i didnt really enjoy it... from 2-4 i shot my normal style and went for the shots i wanted to get, i even got the film camera out at the end of the day and shot of a roll of film cant wait to get that back from the camera shop.

Too show how noobie i am ive finally realised the benefits of good iso ability on cameras since following all the olympic photographers blogs, bumping up the iso makes it so easy to get the "freeze the frame" style shots. My mate also let me use his 30d for the day which is so much better then my 350d sad.gif i wish the damn 50d would hurry up and be released... anyway here are some samples let me know what you think..

Last weekend i got the pleasure of helping out on a photoshot of a super clean s14 with a rb26 donk... Photographer was Chris Brasher, hes a machine you can check out some of his work here:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/brasher/

Was good to watch how a pro works and was even better to have a play with pro gear... damn i want a 1d there tanks lol. But i learnt quite alot, i was happy that i have been doing everything i do mostly correct, learnt alittle more about light placement and just little shit that u never think about which was really good. Here are some shots i took while helping out of some light placements and so on...

Well i bought my suction caps and super clamps about 3 months ago to be used for my rig

since then i have been attempting to get a decent pole... and after thre attempts im finally sort of happy lol

Rig V3
Has a 4m pole which is split into 1m sections and is held together with bolts.
manfrotto suction cups and super clamps
and a magic arm

I noticed the Manfrotto ones are more expensive and don't hold as much as some others (4lbs vs 75lbs - must be a typo though, perhaps 7.5lbs), is the only reason you went for Manfrotto because of the name/reputation? or are your caps meant to be the best?

wicked matt, can't wait to see some stuff big man..

similar to my rig .... fidly bastards they are smile.gif

V4 needs to come from underneath the car to minimize PP work biggrin.gif (like eastons)

matt mead
Post #309

easton uses suction caps as does 90% of everyone else

under the car is a bitch as not all cars are high enough and have exposed metal for magnets.

i went the the manfrotto because i knew it would work and it gave me easy access to all different types of connections

Version 4 is going to have a post in the middle with tensioned wire to either end of the pole.

Come to Brisbane so I can steal your shit.

Played with a dude at work's 70-200 2.8, about half as heavy again as the f/4 but a lust-worthy lens just the same. Love the big front element.. Sadly one of the things I want when I sell off my 17-85.. a nice fat piece of glass sitting in front.
