Tried software update from their website first?

Ultimately if it's sent to Navman, all they'll do is reflash the software and likely install that update.

Garmin Garmin Garmin.

got a nuvi 310 when it was released. never a single moments problem. we could never keep enough stock on hand, i was selling at least 12 a week. (at my old job obv)

my old voxtrack however.. well that cant be used as more than a paperweight..

When anyone asks me what GPS to get, I always say either TomTom or Garmin. And you know what every cxnt ends up with? A fucking Navman.

Srsly, the marketing of Navman is insane. And the sales commissions must be better than other brands because every sales rep seems to push them harder than a pimp pushing his womenz.

Anyway. Not a fan of Navman at all. TomTom is the best imo, Garmin a distant second and everything else somewhere behind that wink.gif

yeh man, theres no updates for it sad.gif... It goes from the "safety agreement accept / decline" screen, to the main navman screen, then back to the accept/decline screen...

yeah tomtom's the way to go... no worries or problems, accurate maps, good directions etc...

i just picked up the new version3 one, its great and makes the tomtom name even better.. was only about $270 (299 rrp).

its only a 3.5in screen, but honestly, you dont need any bigger...

the tomtom 720 gps has bluetooth you can pick them up pretty cheap if you look around in the classifieds section for 300 - 500 max.

Oh and the TomTom rider, but it's really excluded being a bike GPS.

Then Navman S50, S80, S90i.

And Garmin Nuvi 310 and Nuvi 760

No other brands are worth mentioning.

bought the tomtom one for my mother for mums day, curious to know
does unit have to be on when charging it on the pc, and for how long
for full charge, it doenst say anywhere in the manual.

We have a Garmin Nuvi and it's tops. I haven't used any other brands so I can't compare, but the Garmin does everything we want it to and easily.

My Navman used to be fully charged in about 3hrs if thats any help.

Just let em go.

My TomTom sits in its cradle 24/7 so everytime I start the car its getting charged. Hasnt blown up yet tongue.gif

Navmans are fine s50s, quote s2krazy: i work at super cheap as well

we seem to sell more navmans but get more navmans over tom toms back for repairs the s50s have software issues, but not all of them had many customers rave about how good they are working. Also garmin are a awesum brand they are extremely Fast and As of yet have not heard about many problems with them, and tomtoms are just great

Now is also a good time to mention Garmin are offering the new 2008 map upgrade, normally valued at $179, free until the end of the month.

So if you're leaning towards a Garmin..... now is the time to buy.

You can pick up the Go 720 as a RRP for $599 at mose retail outlets. Just keep an eye out for Supercheap / Autobahn / Repco / JB Hi-fi / Dick Smith / Bunnings / Harvey Norman / Clive Anthony's etc catalogues to check sale prices, which are usually $20-$50 off RRP.

End of Financial Year is fast approaching too, so you may be able to haggle a better deal.

Just remember, a couple of retailers offer a Price Beat Policy too, so don't be afraid to shop around, just make sure you get a written quote...

Also. iIf you keep an eye on the Boost sales forum, they pop up regularily for about $300.

yer cheapest ive seen in retail so far is $577 from dicksmith, boost forums for 300 sounds like the go. once these 2 items are gone im selling i'll be shoppin..
