Thinking of either of these turbos atm; HKS GT2835 ball-bearing twin-turbo or GT35R Single Turbo any advice here would be great to get extra performance out of this car for racing. Go see Carlos at Millenium Motorsport (07) 3348 2755. The guy is a 2J fan and has worked on some massive hp ones, including his own. He knows all the insides and outs of them, and will have a better opinion about turbo sizing than most people from his years of experience working on them. Plus he can stear you in the right direction for fuel system, and look after all of that side for you. |

call brad at Boosted Extremes he sponsors the QLD supra club and has done this conversion may times and he would be a shitload cheaper than Millennium. Also I agree that you will need a fuel system upgrade. QUOTE Boosted Xtremes

QUOTE(gillatron @ Apr 16 2008, 10:45 PM) Thinking of either of these turbos atm; HKS GT2835 ball-bearing twin-turbo or GT35R Single Turbo u do know both those setups are no where near each other a GT2835 aka GT3071 is rated at 500hp so if u have 2 of them hanging of ur engine its like having a 1000hp turbo a GT35R is rated at 700hp as u can see they are no where near each other |

Go single...Twins won't make it less laggy... Like many have said, its cheaper. Not only that its easier to work on when you've only got 1 turbo, 1 dump pipe, 1 cooler pipe etc as well as more room in engine bay... |

Actually STR8E180's post above is very true. Lots of Soarer owners stick GT35R's on their 1J's easy 11 second car with supporting mods. Plenty of Supra owners go with the T04Z, been done many times too, so it is obviously a good combo. I guess you should speak to people on the mentioned Supra forums for advice on exhaust housing size. All comes down to what you are after, response or top end. Personally I don't like laggy turbos. I have a T04E on my CA18 haha doesn't have much til 4000-4500rpm. |
