iv just bought a pre 90's (im pretty sure) subaru fiori n im plannin on doing it up a bit. iv been told i can buy a bodykit set that fits my car but i havnt been able to locate any on either the net or places in brisbane.

Im also planning on doing a respray after iv installed the bodykit but im also keen on replacing the engine (its rather pissweak) or moding other areas.

any help and advice with regards to both the bodykit and engine would be greatly appreciated.

The problem you're gonna face re: engines is that there's nothing even remotely worth your time that'd fit into that thing, except maybe a turbo charade engine.

Don't get too carried away with the idea unless you've got a big wallet to see it through, because pretty much everything you do to that will have to be custom work. Personally, I'd save the money to buy a better car as a base for mods, and wouldn't waste my time on it.

if you're going to go through with it, and committed to wasting heaps of money (i'm not saying don't do it, but it honestly is a waste of money...although pretty much any modified car is), then heres a few ideas for you;
engine;
cb70/80 charade gtti engine.
k10a suzuki wagon R engine
g13b swift engine, potential size problems though
g10a earlier 1L twin cam engine, less power than g13b, but smaller

those are all pretty expensive options.
also, i'd say the engine from a subaru rex would fit (rex, not a wrx!).
probably be a bit easier and you'd be staying the same manufacturer.

bodykit wise;
i'd be looking to adapt/modify standard nice looking bumpers from similar cars, or importing the factory kits off things like the subaru rex, suzuki alto (square front), daihatsu mira trx, and then modifying those to fit.

not sure how much help this info is. hopefully some? lol
good luck!

Lol good luck with that pulling a forester...

Is it just a standard forester or is it a GT or similar?

Bodykits there are heaps of places to get them from (http://www.nextmod.com.au/component/page,shop.product_details/flypage,shop.flypage/product_id,1653/category_id,4/manufacturer_id,0/option,com_virtuemart/Itemid,35/)... But your best bet for a 'different' look would be from japan... My choice would be the subaru GT kit if you dont already have it!!

Best of luck with it champ! thumbsup.gif

I'd be very doubtful of it being "easy" to put a moto engine in, especially given the different gearbox setup. You probably could do it, but without some pretty handy wrench skills you won't be doing it in the backyard.

No freaking way. "your mate" fit a b4 engine in a fiori? BS. Look at the pic - THAT'S a fiori. You'd barely fit the battery for a b4 engine in there, let alone the whole thing.

Im also planning on doing a respray after iv installed the bodykit but im also keen on replacing the engine (its rather pissweak) or moding other areas.

any help and advice with regards to both the bodykit and engine would be greatly appreciated.

Ahh, the mighty M80, 800cc of diff-snapping power, horsepower output so small it's rated in shetland ponies.

Great cars - had one since 2000. Not many options out there to give it a bit more zip. One could be to get hold of a Suby Vivio 650cc supercharged engine rated at 52 (or so) hp. Googling will bring up a heap of crap but in amongst the dross there is a fair bit of good guff available.

An interesting project that has the potential to cost a heap of $$ for little gain. I left mine stock standard and just use it as a cheap runaround while the bank balance builds.

hey mate.. i also have a subaru fiori and im only 16 years of age. i myself have started to do up the fiori.. with such mods as twin 12 inch subs and a 1000watt rms amp. also neons all round. im hopefully lowering it 3 inches or so soon. i have also located a supercharged engine which will go in when i get $1500.

They aren't a real big engine, once you start ditching stuff like air-con and power steering, it should fit easy. I've heard of a couple of engines with 250fwkW, which is ridiculous for a 1.3L engine.

How are you going with this?

A mate of mine is doing a similar thing for a bit of a laugh, he picked up a 660cc supercharged/ intercooled vivio engine cheap. Basically the whole floor pan and suspension arrangment from the vivio front cut bolts straight into the fiori. The vivios bigger calipers, M/C and rotors bolt on to. Going to be interesting with the tiny rubber and lack of AWD on the fiori.
