Ok things are looking serious so we need to>
contact venues pricing
choose a date that suits most people (make sure no other events are on the day we choose)

Have you read my first post at all?

I have the venue and I have a date ... this was to gauge interest for that event soley.

I think he just wants to take all your glory away Ang.

No glory ... I just want to know if this is viable for everyone on here or not. Either way Drag Time is happening so it doesn't affect the day at all smile.gif

Heheh this might be a silly question but WHERE is it going to be? (its probably posted right infront of my face)

IF it goes ahead I have Willowbank Raceway on the 28th October for Drag Time. Information is in my signature smile.gif

As long as a swap meet at drag day isnt just for imports......

oh wait, old schoolers have a swap meet somewhere around here every weekend! tongue.gif

Swap meets rock, cheap parts everywhere makes for a more affordable hobby!
But the only problem for *most new-schoolers out there is that you cant really take second hand bits to your favourite performance shop, get them to do all the work for you and take all the glory! tongue.gif *
(*note - said tongue in cheek and not to be taken seriously!)

Not at all ... but to be honest they are really the only ones showing interest so far

nah, let the import guys have their thing, as i said there is an old school swap meet every weekend somewhere in SE QLD and northern NSW.
And between the Lismore Swap in 2 weeks, and Beaudesert Swap in September, which is one of the biggest around here, i'll be all swapped out by the Drag Day! tongue.gif

you should have it on the gold coast or in between brissy or something....

dont forget drifitng is a large sport that involves almost only imports

I mentioned I have the venue, a date booked and that 90+ cars would be there. My bad for assuming you'd click it was Drag Time.

No ruling at this stage ... like I've said already this is to gauge an interest to see if I should go through with organising it.

why do you need a special 'place' or 'venue' to do this ang??

why couldnt we say.....

Boost Swap meet at Springwood IKEA carpark, at a time that isnt going to be an inconviniance for IKEA or its customers...?? (or simular store)

I say use a carpark at a time when customers for that store wont use it.

eg:

Bunnings warehouse - Creek Rd after 9pm

Ikea - Springwood etc etc

hell even a park where footy/cricket is played would be an ideal 'venue'.

what say yee??? smile.gif

Cause I already have the special "place" or "venue" and many boost members will be their either participating or spectating .....

Side note you can't just "use" a carpark, you have to pay and the Drag Time venue is already paid for.

This is no loss for me if it doesn't happen, it was an idea as some of you seem interested.

Because if you want to have it as an actual event per say, it would require insurance etc and I dont know too many people who would go to a swap meet at 9pm, nor too many buisnesses who would allow people to do it.

Ang just let it go ahead, if people turn up they turn up, if not they dont. Just allocate X amount of area to the side for the stalls and see how it goes.

Feel free to organise one of you want also ... like I said I had the venue and the idea was there
