I don't understand why the Gold Coast, Logan and Brisbane have been left off. Wouldn't they in essence be the biggest "hot spots" in South East Qld?

I'm reserving my "it's gay" comment just for now smile.gif
i think you'll find that though LOGAN has a huge amount of presence with hoon cars, most offenses happen in different areas other then LOGAN,but yeah why leave these spots out when eveywhere between has the same cas and same offenses?

toowoomba has turned into a huge hoon spot and they are widening their target areas
seems the outter brisbane areas and country areas have gotten alot of illegal stuff happening on their roads and as they are smaller areas with a large problem i gather thats why they have decided to widen it to those areas.

I think most of Boostcruising will be

To a degree,
people that have say a exhaust and pod. i mean thats simple to eather swap back or have plated.

although returning say our cars to stock . or even getting 50 mod plates for every modification on the car is going to be almost imposable. and if possable think of the costs involved.

now these laws are out. police will use this as there new hoon-bashing stick. even if i had all my mods done. and say i didnt have my airfresher mod plated , that'd be there thing to pick on.

Heres hopeing that the trial is a flop,
Hope for the best. plan for the worse

Fast modifed sil80 for sale.

`josh

ps. least i can sell my car , buy a motorbike with no modifications and do 350kph on the m1 totally standard
wheres the friken logic in that ?

Because of that exact reason.

While something is in it's "trial" period, why put it in the largest volume area, have it in the lesser areas's first, work out the bugs and loopholes (which there is bound to be some)

and THEN when it is all iron clad law, introduce it to the full area.

It's simple planning.

Im just glad I dont go 'cruising' as such anymore. Dont be where the heat is so to speak.

Im just pissed off they targeted ipswich. I know it has a high bogan content, but IF these laws come in and are finalised, then its going to be like running a guantlet to go to events like powercruise/winternats/DA rounds and infact any sprint of track days that draw large number of enthusiast. Champion way only has 1 entry and 1 EXIT.

they'll be lining you'll up on the exit of willowbank and they'd know that most of the GC and brisbane areas attend wednesday and saturday night test n tunes and weekend events like powercuise jambo etc
they are gunna use these areas as a test mule for a bigger and more anal law system when it hits GC brisbane areas.

will having a car registered and license in a different state make these laws not apply?

i'm in darwin.

and i drive a base model commodore with hubcaps and no modifications except for a cd player and some polished bits of standard metal in the engine bay. the modified car is an unregistered trailer queen (or dog) anyway.

I totally agree with you there, as most ppl who go there have either some sort of exhust or something else. Ipswich is like the home for SE QLD motor sport and they go and do something stupid like this,

Might aswell fit my screamer pipe and my straight thru exhust if im ganna get done anyway

What if say, you got caught by a speed flash bang camera, then got caught again in say 4 months? I couldn't find anything in the article regarding speeding, but my question being if this happened, would you be summoned to court in stead of getting the usual letter in the mail box?

BUGGER thats just unfarken believable, has anyone found an official thread to check this? not to doubt the topic starter i just want to see it for my own eyes. should be a truckload of cheap secondhand gear goin round soon if this is the case. just a point to think of that no-one seems to have mentioned, emission laws where bought in and vehicles have to comply with the standards current at the time, why should someone who has spent a motsa of cash over a long period of time to meet last weeks laws suddenly this week have their car taken away and deemed defective and have to incur all costs involved, just seems ridiculous. my 2 cents

hmmmm, as long as your not a tool and don't bring attention to your self, and stay away from the hot spots (i never go to them anyway) i don't really see that the new laws are really going to effect the community 'that much'. Most of those rules have been in the books for a long time, (well not so much the modding one) but now they are just trying to bring more attention to the subject.

make sure you have water in your washer bottle, because if you dont, thats a defect.

Police: son, you dont have any water in your washer bottle in your stock echo, ill have your keys please and here is your court date.

i think police are secretly setting up race meets.

race wars - copper style, cheaper than buying your own car - just confiscate someone elses

I can vouch for the courts being held up for several months, A mate of mine has only recently been called to court for something that happened january last year.. It was just getting around to doing it i suppose.

These new impound laws will affect everyone.. what if you go out and spend $350,000 on a brand new v8 BMW or something, then a few months later go back and get BMW to put an "aftermarket" exhaust on the car, Making it somewhat louder and for example, get pulled over for a random breath test, then one of the officers thinks "hmm wow this cars a bit loud" then you get owned for it...

Thats bollocks!

Mr-RX
Post #99

I hope this backfires and every joe blow that has a standard car but decided to put a set of aftermarket rims on or some tint get there car impounded.

I know about 70% of my mates parents all have some form of light modiforcation to there car to make it look diffrent.

It's funny that on Sunday night there was a huge RBT on Samford Road, i pulled in, and the cop said before i blew into the breath tester, "I take it this is your baby, so your not stupid enough to drink and drive", i said "no sir", then he made a joke and a laugh and sent me on my way, this was July 1st however, and i wasn't pulled up on anything.
