Mr-RX
Post #38

So, Even modiforcations WITH mod plates will become illegal and you WILL get your car impounded for them?

Well then, I better sell my rx7 which i had to spend alot of SAFTEY FEATURES to put my turbo engine in, And buy a rusty corolla that would probably do higher speeds then my rx7 anyway (4.4 diff ratio)

This will affect the automotive businesses that specialise in modifying vehicles. This will lead to bankruptcy and eventually more people on welfare and more crime so people can live. We will be living like the people in the Mad Max films soon. Mag wheel shops will go broke, then Repco,Autobarn and Supercheap will go down. smile.gif A bit extreme i know, but thats the way we are heading.

They will have to open up Lakeside to handle the influx of cars wanting to be driven as well.

Can i still use a non genuine oil filter when i service my car ???

why not just put that energy you are going to use looking for loopholes into changing your approach and attitude towards cars, so that you aren't affected by the laws?

really, its not that much effort at all aye. I'd rather find a loophole.....thats what interests ME

I believe that if your drift car is registered.. even if you get it towed in you can still be defected because the vehicle still falls under the laws. So you would be getting your 'unregistered' drift car towed there to not be affected by the laws smile.gif

30(1) Owner failing to obtain approval for vehicle modifications

30(2) Authorised officer approving modifications which are not allowed

how are they decided on whats not allowed and whats allowed? isnt that the point of mod plating, when parts arent standard?

If you get flashed by a copa, and you know that thats it.. your gonna get the car taken and sold.. its almost worth your while giving them a run. Make them have to work for it if they want it. lol (jks people, but again..u get my point tongue.gif )

Either way, what im saying is that for ALOT of us guys out there (infact the majority), we simply canot afford to take those actions. So are we supposed to just simply give up our passion? and no longer continue in the sport? That is a very hard thing to ask, to be forced out of something like that.

Why just guys? There are plenty of girls on this site with modded cars as well dunno.gif

tongue.gif

And stop being so melodramatic! They aren't stopping you from giving up your passion .. If your that passionate about it then you will abide by the rules and make sure that your car is legal .. even if that does restrict some of the mods your able to do .. It is unfortunate but they're not going to change the laws because we're all having emo fits.. They're not trying to 'force it out' as you say, they're just trying to make it safer I guess?

Ok what about people that have spend thousand + dollars on and exhaust and it meets current laws (90db or lower ow whatever it is)

and under the new laws it will be illegal

9(1) Drive motor vehicle with silencing device modified so as to reduce
effectiveness
9(2) Modify vehicle’s silencing device so as to reduce effectiveness

I guess that same will apply for many mods which are currently legal and will no longer be.

The law can get fucked. If its currently legal and we have conformed to specs then we should not get punished with these new laws.

Agreed, but... It has nothing to do with safety

It doesn't comply with their regulations. That is why they are enforcing it.

all i can see is the courts realising after a short time how much more congestion there is in the court system and it wont take 12 months to get rid of these new laws.

imagine if every person who had an aftermarket part on their car had to go to court if they were caught with it. there is no way the court system can or will handle it

HOON69

CAN SEE SURFERS and SUNSHINE COAST being a ghost town and turned into a padestrian city/suburb as most these new laws will affect 90% of cars on the road.

saying that im sure the police will only target the aftermarket type parts and thats about every 2nd car that cruises so i can see alot of forums having crap loads of threads about cops etc laugh.gif

lucky for me i dont cruise as much and if i do its in a vehicle that came out of the factory with all its bits n pieces.

new laws are crap and i hate em but no amount of hating and whinging is going to stop them from taking our rides, and i bet you dont have to do anything to become a target,as shown when your at the spit, parked up and DOT/MTA comes and rapes your car over.

cops are tops ppl's the law makers suck the wang tongue.gif

the courts are back logged for months and in some cases up to 12-18 months

and with court proceeding they dont like em dragging on past the 12 month mark,so the courts and law makers would need to make special courts to hold just the hoon law cases etc
which wont happen,so i can see judges throwing cases out and alot of prosecutors pulling their hair out and in some cases losing papers and having cases thrown out.
