Great shots there dude!

i'm with everyone else on this, the first set looks better, the extra contrast gives them that urban look

The last couple of shots are nothing without the pp in my opinion, keep at it thumbsup.gif

My thoughts exactly.
I think of how I could pp the shot and how the final product will turn out before I take it, that's why i took those shots in the 1st place.

the last city set harry, the ones with pp are much better, that style of photographs are complemented by that type of pp.

circlework photog to come help you out....

i know just the guy!

lol, not after i didn't get to come to the carwash shoot!

I got that manfrotto tripod at the market for $120, it is pretty sweet, shitloads better than my old one and a serious bargain for $120, normally they are around $300. Also grabbed a couple of slave flash units, $20 for the pair... I love that place for things like that.
Did you buy anything?

Harry

TD 06
Post #851

yo harry, show a pic of these slave flash units if you dont mind, i have been searching around, they might be the same as what i want

vp_s_wagon
Post #852

They are these:

Vivitar 283's

These are not mine, i just googled them, if you just ignore all the crap around them. I have the slave sync and the 2 flashes, all for $20.

IPB Image

IPB Image

They are a tripod-only mount so they won't fit in a hotshoe, they just have a tripod thread in them.

Haven't had them long enough to tell u in much detail how good they are but what i have seen so far tells me that they are fine for what i want them for. They are nothing special. Any Canon/Nikon film/digital speedlight shits on them in terms of power but for $20 i'm not complaining.

Harry

EDIT: The 2nd one pictured has a hotshoe mount, mine is a flat base with just a tripod mount

TD 06
Post #853

ahh k, yeh pretty much what im going to buy, the ones i was looking are the sync sensor with a hotshoe on them, so you just put your speedlite on top, and another flash fires it, cool

One more pic from that shoot.
I still have a few more i need to edit. I'll probably post up 2 more after this.
I'll be doing another shoot soon so there will be a whole range of high and low key glamour/lingere shots for you guys to criticise or for the non-photographers, drool over tongue.gif

What do u think?

Thats a great shot Harry! Love the composition.

Wish I got a chance to do stuff like that lol!!

Only thing is for me it seems the white background tends to blend a bit with the white lingere. doesn't make it pop out as much.

Cheers mate,
It is great to be able to do shoots like that.
I am not happy with how this one turned out though.
I the re-shoot will have a very different backdrop

MitsuMan
Post #859

No worries at all mate!

Yeah I reckon it'd be great! Thats good that it'll be a different background for the next shoot, needs to be more of a neutral colour hey, something that goes with every colour lol!

Look forward to seeing some of ya shots from the next shoot mate!

great work harry there all awesome shots

dj_brad_k
Post #865

they are all so bloody good harry, you have done very well.

one suggestion i had while looking and the only thing i could think of commenting on is, perhaps in number 4 a closer crop would be useful as you almost lose the presence of the girl in the frame.

just a thought.

awesome shots again man.

these suck harry.... wheres the panning? either that... or where are the boobs?

vp_s_wagon
Post #867

cheers fellas,
Tyler, I tried that but it looked crap because i did a really tight one and it was shot at ISO 800 so it wasn't sharp enough. I might try a less close one.

Matt, your a tool.

The only thing that shits me is the fact that the building in #2 is not straight. I'll fix it though.

Hey Harry,

1.I like the shot espically the fact he is standing but has a wheel chair seems a little dark though.
2.My second favourite shot the sign adss helps and the comp. is great the only thing i can say is that the light over the "buy" part of the sign is a bit bright not much you could probaly do about that though.
3.Really digging this candid shot but for me the people in the background draw away from it too much.
4.A good shot Tyler said a tighter crop perhaps but yeah if you don't look too hard the girl could easily be missed but i like the idea.
5.Fuck yeah sweet as hot love the pp here and the silohuette tops it off the man is a little bit too central but i honestly don't think it matters, great stuff Harry.
6.Also a cool shot the b&w suits it extremely well my only suggestion would be to crop out the foreground it's kinda don't need it, but yeah the over exposed background is sweet.

All up Harry great stuff as usual keep em' coming.

But gotta agree with Matt where the tits? tongue.gif

wow harry, very nice shots, your work has stepped up heaps

dj_brad_k
Post #871

when i was typing my reply i thought about what iso you would of shot it at and i thought with a tighter crop it might not of worked.

could be effective but meh.

great set

Thanks heaps for all the feedback fellas, it's great when you get responses like that, it lets you know the photography forum is still very much alive and kicking!

Brian, thanks heaps for spending the time mate, it is always a huge help to get detailed feedback like that. I agree completely with the comments, i definitely will be getting rid of the foreground in that last one. I tried a less central comp but it didn't look very good - there are ALWAYS exceptions to the rules!
I hate the fact there are people in #3, they were actually with the guy looking in the window and about 2 seconds after that shot he turned around and caught up with them to join them - Oh well.

I should have some more time now that I'm on holidays.

I did another model shoot 2 days ago - Haven't got round to processing yet but the tits are coming soon!

Cheers

Something a little different from the last shoot i did with her:

I had no control over the location so I know it looks a little cliché...

Any ideas for the next few shoots with her?

first one is great i love it, lighting is super cool? what lighting source was used man?

vp_s_wagon
Post #875

Thanks heaps mate. I used 2x 300watt Studio strobes with 60" diffusers (i think tongue.gif) - Bought from Ronza's eBay store for $750. In #1 I just used the one strobe and in #2 I used both. I wanted to just use 1 in the 2nd one but apparently I needed more light for the packaging shots (they need to be illustrative not artistic sad.gif )
