They are awesome cameras, there is no doubt about it but i would be spending more on some 'L' glass and getting a 1D mkII if I were you, if you have started with canon, it is alot easier to stick with them than to change. |

Went into the city to do a little bit of shooting with the new lens... I thought i'd do a bit of Ronza style stuff. |

well imo, the first one is great but the others seem a little to bright and glary, its a nice effect, but maybe just a bit to much overexposure, the last one is not as interesting as the other compositions, that lens is nuts, i seen a chick with one on a d200 the other day, very nice |

i agree with tyson, the first one is done really nice, pp is just perfect. the 2nd one is a great capture but i think is a bit overdone with the pp and the exposure is just a bit to high and the effect is almost lost and doesn't do much for it. The 3rd one personally doesnt grab me at all harry, i think maybe it is that the subject is a bit to 'everyday' i dunno. On the whole though harry i love the shots cause this type of style really grabs me. |

The first would be better if the man was alone kind of an isolation feeling if you know what i mean seems a bit busy. The second one it seems too dark in the important part yet to bright in the unimportant areas. |

Thanks heaps guys. Great feedback. I'll definatley be re-editing them with less exposure. I completley agree with all ur points, I think that last one needs a stronger focal point, the guy i was shooting is too small with that crop. I wasn't there for long, I really want to go back for a full day shooting there. |

QUOTE(`Nova @ May 21 2007, 05:46 PM) not so sure on your last three though to be honest.. seem a little dark imo.. but very ronza inspired yesh? thats what they reminded me of... Yeah, very Ronza inspired. Just can't please some! First they are too bright, then too dark! lol. It really wasn't a good day to be shooting. I'll go back when it is overcast or shoot in another location, like a train station (bit more Ronza inspiration for ya!) I just found this other bloke who's photos i fucking love, he uses a Nikon too!! Although, it is a D2x with some AWESOME glass, like a 135mm f/2, 200mm f/2, 70-200/2.8 VR, 85mm/1.4, 14mm/2.8 etc etc. His name is Paul Vanhoy II: http://www.fotoimpressions.com/pages/photoj_st4.htm Thanks Brian. Cheers Harry EDIT: Paul Vahoy is a traitor!!! He also has a Canon 1D MkII with an 85mm f/1.2 and 16-35mm f/2.8 as well as a few other awesome bits of glass. |

I was walking through the city again a couple of days ago. Thought I'd do a bit of shooting to kill some time. The light was better this time so they (hopefully) arent as blown out. |

Cheers fellas, yeah lance, that is the style I am going for. I know it looses some detail, I'm not too worried about that though, I am trying to create color/contrast appearance that suits the subject and IMO is more effective in conveying a certain mood/theme than the original colors/contrast. |
