Great work man, really good job. Only thing I could suggest would be maybe to cut down on the sharpening a tad, it makes the bouquet look a bit weird and digital. Other than that, Great shots and congrats on having it put up on the site.

Here's some pics from the Buddha Birth Day Festival at Southbank today. There was so many photographers there it was crazy and no i'm not religious or anything just thought it would be interesting.

the first 4 are great shots brian, especially number 1, the red against the blue is really eye cathcing.

i dont know if you didnt check the iso on the camera or if the sharpening was a bit to much cause there is quite a bit of noise evident in the shots. it looks like noise from sharpening the image a bit to much.

great shots like usual though

I had to shoot at high ISO as there was'nt great light in the suncorp stage area abd the batteries in my sppedlight died should have charged them.

I think they are all pretty damn good, Very good use of DOF and all pretty sharp.
#1 - Great shot, simple yet very effective, perhaps a little bit of extra blue saturation would have been good, other than that - loving it.

#2 - I think it is a great crop and a good capture, only downside is the color of the background (despite being OOF) makes him get a little bit lost in it. I still like the shot though.

#3 - Good DOF, nice and sharp, just not the most interesting pic, i think it would have been far better with her facing you - that being said, i know what performers are like sometimes, they just never look at some areas of the crowd!

#4 - I really like this one - the desat and the DOF with the close crop all work a treat.

#5 - my least fav shot of the set, not very eye catching, looks to illistrative as opposed to creative.

#6 - I really like this shot, the sharpness and the good use of DOF are great, only thing i could say would be that it would have looked better with the fans at the same angle- but you have no control over that - you did a great job with the cards you were dealt.

#7 - Again - would have been better if he was facing you, still a decent shot though - just not awfully eye catching.

I hope that was of some use to you.

Cheers

Harry

PS: I can't say I noticed alot fo noise in the shots - maybe I'm just dumb?

Nice Brian, i'm loving the style.
#1 - I think this shot would look better with less sharpening and if you had used the rule of thirds with the sign, it is too central for my liking.

#2 - I really like this shot, the people's faces are so sharp, it is the movement of everything else that I don't like, it distracts from them a bit IMO.

#3 - That is one cooool building - I can't fault it. Although I love the color, I can see this looking great in a B&W version too.

#4 - I don't quite know what it is, it just doesn't do it for me. There is just something about the composition that doesn't 'flow', it is quite a distracted shot, my eyes dart around it alot.

#5 - I love this shot, if only the backdrop wasn't blurred (even if he still was) it would look awesome.

#6 - I think the buildings would look better if they were a little brighter, perhaps a B&W version with the sky blown out and bright buildings could look good.

#7 - A little scary... Good though

They are good shots - all of them - I am just being picky

Cheers

I know what you mean it was a really random on the spot shot and i spotted it and took others but none of them looked like this one, a bit annoyed it's not right but i'm still happy with it.
And you can be as picky as you want your comments are exactly what i'm after, thanks biggrin.gif

Now here are some film photo's from the city.

TD 06
Post #416

nice shot, because they go so fast, would still need to have a slow shutter speed? could you use a much faster speed, and still have same blur?

Ghetto Panda
Post #417

That shot was at 1/160th but yeah i tried 1/125th but was'nt get anything i reckon i could have gone up to 1/200th and have still got the blur but maybe better detail i'll have to find some other bike events in the future.

dj_brad_k
Post #418
