it was a dodgy guy who sold it to me it was my first car so i took very good care of it but from the start i needed to replace the clutch and it kept missing even though i had changed the spark plugs and leads then i found out the steering rack was broken then the powersteering hose burst.. it was just endless and that was all within a few months of owning it. it was sr20 Q

You do realise, cars... get old over time.. and things break...
Don't just blame the whole series just because you had a problem... unless of course, you are the world........

well i wouldnt buy another one smile.gif and i do realise things get old over time but all that broke in 9 months of owning it...
yeah its prolly a 1 in a million chance coz i do know alot of people who have n14s that are great my boyfriend has a gtir and he has never had a problem with that. i was just telling my experience. makes no difference to me if they listen or not because that could happen with any car they buy anyway.

how did i contradict myself??

you brought a car with the second weakest gearbox known to man (second to the wrx)

The n14 would be stronger.

ah, you have a common problem that most people on here have.

the way to fix this is:

- walk to the front of your car
- kneel down so your in front of the grille
- now look straight and the problem should be circled for you, just like this one

You drive a S13 with a CA.. and you're giving the Mike negative comments about his 12a turbo MX5? Interesting nonetheless!

its actually opel, which technically is a vauxhall (not sure if it was the same back then) so, no, its not a holden, just has a holden badge. i think nissan bought them from opel as well, not holden.

also, saying that it uses holden parts isnt really a good point laugh.gif

lol thanks chuong. you'll see the car in a week or two, its almost ready drool.gif

51NGL, in your 1/4 mile time it says "race me and see". is that suggesting that your willing to put it to the test? i'm up for it, 1/4 mile or circuit. i would personally like to see how your s13 fairs against my 5 around QR. after all, its only a hairdresser's car......

......with 250kw at the wheels.

it's getting a lil off topic again wink.gif.
yes the N13 motor's are a GM motor, basicaly OPEL, almost the same motor as in my astra turbo, just sohc and non turbo wink.gif.

to explain to those that dont know, Opel, Vauxhal, and Holden are all sister companies under the GM umbreller.
they are all equal (in name at least), but most of the cars are more generated from Opel then the rest.
all holden, and now hsv too do is put badges n them, nothing else wink.gif.
oh yeah, apart from try to avoid warranty issue, as holden likes to do.

how come the newer astra's come from vauxhall then? did this change recently or something?

edit: ahahahahaha wait i just had a look myself. it seems both Opel and Vauxhall sell the exact same cars?!?!!? whats the point in that? they all even have the same names.

opel is euro, vauxhall is uk, and holden is aussie, basically all that is.
oh and chevy sells them too.
there is the odd coutry that gets them also, japan has opel but badged different i think the corsa (barina) was called a vita or sumpting, quite a few years back now when i was there, so i forget.

and most are badged the same, holden changed the corsa to the barina to follow the line they had from the suzuki swift, apart from that, it's pretty much the same around the world wink.gif.

oh, and most of the opels we get in aus are vauxhall spec, as in tune's.
it seems that the UK climate is very similar to ours, and i have no idea why hsv took the VXR over the OPC, the OPC looks so muck hotter!!!

The CA is a good conversion for the N13.

My old one is still getting around Newcastle, I did the conversion about 9 years ago.

misses car runs a CA18 motor thats how we bought it goes very nice. we bought lowering springs apart from the bonnett being a littled dinted. it has tonnes of power for a little 1.8L.

shame there isnt many nice body kits for them though
