hey everyone,
i own a Nissan Pulsar N13 and am looking at doin it up a bit.

just wondering if anyone could give me some suggestions.

things i wanna do:

>body kit
>in car neons
>i need a new windscreen wiper for the passenger side (the other one snapped off)
>raising (car is too low... scrapes going over bumps and around corners)
>interior
>sound system

i don't have mega bucks to spend but i just wanna do a semi nice job on it so that i can gain respect down here @ the GC.

any comments welcome.

Every N13 body kit is gay. The only kit that looks good is the factory 'Formula' kit of the SVD Astra hatches... good luck finding one wacko.gif

Get Kings Springs Lows. Heres a pic of my old N13 with them:
IPB Image
Interior wise I retrimmed mine in Black/White Vinyl.

Still my favourite looking N13:

Keep ya n13 motor in good shape once u let them go they are nothing but trouble specially the ones in exa's they are notorious for alot of trouble when not well maintained

thats a huge understatement. i've seen even the well maintained ones blow up for no apparent reason. they are a troublesome motor.

for the love of god dont get neons! you get more people laughing at you than saying "hey thats cool". get a simple stereo, maybe a few performance accessories and paint you car. keep the bonnet the same, they look weird with a black bonnet, just paint it white. but yeah, otherwise good luck

my opinion...

1st replace windscreen blade..like $20 from super cheap
buy some standard springs....to stock height.

then i wouldnt bother spending anything else on it. is it your first car?? (this im assuming) and u want 'respect' from GC ppl???

keep it clean and tidy without looking RICEY and TACKY....you will ge the respect when you upgrade to something decent. for the meanwhile...put up with it.

u all suck, and are wrong tongue.gif.
i had a 90 pulsar Q, reved it to 6600 all day every day LITERALLY every gear!!!!
only issue i had was the gearbox didnt like reverse doey's and flat changes.
i did some very simple mods to mine, and was beating most turbo silvia's 180's ect, even some skylines.
call me a liar if you wish, i dont care, i even have it on film, well most of it, batteriers dies (well i dont have it, but a friend does, well had)

where abouts are you, if ur on the gold coast or near i'll chat with you, let you in on some secrets, last time i let them out, it was the most popular mod on pulsar.org, n i'm not even a member smile.gif.

also forget the ca or sr motors, there is better motors that will keep with the standard settings, as it is an opel motor after all wink.gif.

Thats a load of bullshit!

considering the N13 pulsars an Exa's had COMPLEATLY different motors.

The ca16de that was in the early twincam exas was the problem. the ca18 had no such problems, the camira 1.8 that was in most of the n13 pulsars just go and go and go, bout the most anoying part about it was the cam "box"

MJG87 - That suspension looks familiar tongue.gif

No the exa's and the pulsars had the same motor, same engine code ,same manual ,Bit more research needed fella your thinking the older exa's the newer ones eg.91 model they do have the n13 motor same as was in the pulsars they are a pulsar motor

the 18le motor is a bloody awesome motor. it just goes and goes and never dies even sittin on redline Hhaha. they're an awesome motor.

it you plan to keep it for a while, wat i recommend is, keeping it nice, clean and simple. some king lows will do, some ok rims and fix the things that need fixing. dont listen to him go the ca18det if you want to go all out. why stop at skylines? go modded gtrs and modded evos

here's an old pic of my car durin the conversion process

You ignorant fool!

The ONLY Pulsars and Exa's which shared the SAME engine were the N12 ET Turbo, and the Exa Turbo i.e E15-ET, or the N13 Langley Pulsar & SI Exa i.e CA16DE... However, you will probably never SEE a Langley in your lifetime...

N12 Pulsar = E15-E or E15-ET
N13 Pulsar = 16LF or 18LE (The only exception are JDM Pulsars i.e Langleys, which have the CA16DE)
N14 Pulsar = GA16DE or SR20DE
N15 Pulsar = GA16DE or SR20DE
N16 Pulsar = QG18DE

N12 Exa = E15-E or E15-ET
N13 Exa = CA16DE or CA18DE
N14 'Exa' (NX Coupe) = SR20DE (GA16DE in America for some models...)

I think you need to do your research! rolleyes.gif

I beleive i may have been wrong not u ,The car info i was looking off is a nissan exa manual but keep in mind the car is imported so that could have something to do with it,In it ,it notes the n13 as a pulsar motor same with the gregory manuals u see at supercheap but as u said it may have been only one particular model of pulsar and may not be a well known model i am sorry if i got my wires crossed i may have needed a little more research

Save up about $5,000 for a conversion.. which includes all the good shiz.

CA18det is a straight bolt in with minor adjustments.

However, SR20DET... its been done before but there's alot of work involved.... might as well buy an N14 tongue.gif

chuong is right there. your ca18 goes in pretty easy and there arent too many issues. things to watch out for are you CV boots (will go very quickly!), gearbox. basically all of your driveline needs looking at and upgrading.

also add in about $2000 extra for all those things that dont work out, which they always have. guarantee it. between Nvious and myself i'd say we've seen about 5 or 6 of these things built. i've seen two of them blow up as well biggrin.gif that was funny.

Was an modified SR20DET powered one getting around Capalaba Area. I think he used to work at Zero Limits Performance a long time ago when the shop was still around. That thing was a Monster, Especially when you factor in that they only weigh around 1000kg.
But other than that, i dont condone the modifying of these cars, However i have found that they suit the duties of a daily driver VERY nicely smile.gif. Good and reliable cars.

Thread cleaned kiddies.

No more name calling and especially no more talk of street racing.

OK.

thats better wink.gif.
i never mentioned anything about street racing tongue.gif.

there is/was a blue n13 getting round with a ca18det, run a 10 last i saw biggrin.gif.
i was there (by chance) when it was getting tuned, and happened to see it at the track.
dont know if it is 1 of the 1's ur all talking about.

i do agree with the early posts but, no body kit's look any good on the n13 sad.gif, they dont need 1 but, kingspring lows look real good on em, and even just 15's make for a good rim.

ah, you have a common problem that most people on here have.

the way to fix this is:

- walk to the front of your car
- kneel down so your in front of the grille
- now look straight and the problem should be circled for you, just like this one

laugh.gif sorry, couldnt help myself tongue.gif

the reason there arent that many turbo n13's in brisbane at all is coz they keep blowing up! they always blow the big end too rolleyes.gif
