Hey you,

Ur last set on the last page is great and I agree that no 3 is an awesome shot and the one of ur sis works really well coz her jacket is the same colour as the window frame smile.gif

And I really like no 2 of ur last set. For some reason it's very typical London. And wtf, no 12 looks like that couple that can't speak the same language from Love Actually.... strange...

I love it. I'm jealous. I hate you.... Merry Christmas Fish xox

I wish mate!
Damn those things are hot!

Nickle,
Yeh, i can't believe they didn't notice me, I shot it @ 18mm so they probably thought they were out ouf the shot because it wasn't pointed at them.

Thanks for all the feedback.
Merry Christmas everyone

God I wish I had some good old aussie heat, I'm sick of 1-2degree weather, i wouldn't mind it if it was actually snowing but it's just plain cold!
I'll put some new shots up on boxing day... cbf processing on christmas day.
Merry Christmas everyone.

Hahaha sneaky bastard. Should try that more often. I also thort I'd put in a mention that ur subway and corridor shots look rather Ronza inspired. V. nice.
Oh and I was gunna ask ur opinion on buying a little digi cam just for keeping with me. Nothing spectacular, just pretty good quality and compact. I'm hoping to get one in the next couple of months now I have a second job.
Cheers xx

love number 1 and especially number 2. although it is not as simplistic as number 1, it is definetely the stereotype of london in my opinion.

all 3 are great though harry, good work

Thanks for all the comments. Number 2 was part of a sequence of 5 for a frame in my dad's company's london appartment (perks of the job biggrin.gif).
This is the rest of the sequence. It is just me panning a taxi.
1. 2. 3. 4.

These are some from Cambridge today:

London looks better in B&W. It is such a timeless city in terms of architecture and B&W makes the photos timeless. I am trying to get some stuff that could be from yesterday or from the 1950's.

Agreed with the B&W, looks great, no.1 is my fav, were the trains mvoing slighty? Where you off to after London? Great shots

Nah the trains werent moving, i used f/3.5 and focused on the roof so they are slightly OOF.
I hit paris on the 3rd, then go skiing on about the 8th, then Milan, then london, then a contiki tour around lots of europe, then sydney, then home.
Cheers for the feedback.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
I met up with one of dad's mates who has a D200 and LOTS of glass, he lent me a Nikon 12-24mm and 70-200 f/2.8 VR (Same as Moment's) for a few days.... Can't wait to see what these babies can do!!

I'll chuck some shots up tommorow.

Harry

PS: I also have a 17-55 f.2.8 to use if I want it.

Moment
Post #690

finally, a man of my own heart.

harry, you will now see the reason why i talk up getting good nikon glass on your camera!

make sure you don't give those babies back untill you have broken hte shutter mechanism off your d80

I took lots of pics today, i like both lenses, but i would not buy the 70-200 f/2.8 VR, It is sooo fucking big, which is fine for motorsport or something (like moment uses it for) but i like doing urban stuff and candids so it is useless for me to buy one because they stick out like dog's balls and u can't point it at someone subtly.
The Nikon 12-24 is awesome, but i think the 10-20 sigma is just as good (maybe better), only half the price. It is pretty sharp and very fast and silent but i think the sigma is still sharper and has 2mm less.

Anyway, here are some shots:

Nikon 12-24mm f.4
1. 2. 3. 4.
5.

Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR

6. 7. 8.

Both great lenses but I think I am going to get a Sigma 10-20mm Nikon 18-70mm and a 24-120mm, then maybe a 70-300 VR.
They just don't suit my purpose.

great set harry.

out of the first lot with the 12-24, number 3 would be my pick, all the people are centralised so the blur looks even across the frame where some are very scattered and doesn't flow aswell as the others and the b&w really suits some of these shots from london.

i love number 1 from the 70-200 harry, great emotion in it. there much be so much to photograph in all these countries.

keep it up, im loving your additions

everytime you post harry, the shots are always awesome. all three of those are perfect, great choice for the b&w on the homeless dude, and number 3 really shows how cold it would be over there. all focusing and apeture levels are dead on.

Some really nice stuff, blur is well executed, just be sure to keep dominant lines at an angle *you* want them at. Not a fan of homeless porn at 200mm though - get in close. Lurrrvley glass though; bet you woulda loved walking around with all the pro gear eh? Haha.
