Brilliant! 1 and 2 are great, POTW material. I like the 1st over the 3rd, I think it looks more balanced with the sun in the centre than the 3rd, interesting cloud cover too.

Awesome colours, polariser or slight vignetting at the top?

My pick is number two you can see the people as they are closer and a lot clearer and the fact they are running is more interesting than if they where just walking great colours and the comp. is great.
The first and Third one's would look better with no people in imo the picture is a bit to dark and kinda hides the people if you know what i mean

I am not really into manipulation of shots, more adjustments but I gave that a shot, what do u think?

I like it heaps more like this, looks so much more open on the highway and the car looks less modern

Both number 2 and 3 were out of my car window at some random old bogan car which just happens to look good from certain angles.... shit from most.

I agree with u on number 2, that's my fav 2.
I tried number 1 and 3 with no people but I found them a little dull, I agree that they need to be bigger and clearer though.

There was some slight color variation at the top, that was just the color of the sky as it blended back a bit, I hate using my polariser because it is quite fat and the edges add vignetting to some of my shots at 18mm... I really need to remove the UV before putting on the polariser.

Number 5 ftw that's awesome it's not like anything you've done before looks great. Really like how it's blown out adds a really good feel the only thing i would suggest would be a bit of a sharpen.

very national geographic mate. Very well done... probably best shots you have done in a long time!

althought, they probably are a tad soft wink.gif which i suppose works for the type of photo it is

Yeh, some are a bit soft, this lens is not very acurate when it comes to focussing quickly so I have missed a few... Considering investing in the Nikon 18-200 VR... mmmmm more debt. You're just used to your fancy new 70-200 VR you lucky bastard. Don't you crave a little more zoom though? I find 200mm a little short for some things.

Nice last post Harry, cool to see people from there. Keep the shutter speed up, not sure whether the lens is a bit soft or just a focus/DOF issue. #10 is the shit smile.gif

It's a focus and DOF issue, this lens is pretty sharp when u use it properly. Unfourtunatley I have never go enough time to do that. I think I should crank the ISO up a little more often because I took almost all of those at ISO 100 or 200, probably should have used 320-400.

Harry, when the lens is sharp down to a pixel level... i can just crop and get results just as good. 10MP is alot of space for some fine images!

I don't think you should bother with the 18-200VR. Save your money and invest in some better telephoto glass, and then save some more and pick up the nikon 12-24 and the 24-70 f/2.8

You most be have fun over there, But you need to go out more remote place and get some photograohy.

Can you hunt down some of the ZULU and get some photographs, they would be awesome.


If you go out far you might get to see a rare "Bush-man".

They ARE Zulu's, the boy with the stick is a zulu and number's 8-12 are all from a zulu town in the middle of nowhere, they are very traditional.

a jumper and the reflection of her shoulder is behind it if that is what you are refering to (dirty bastard!).


Anyway, these are a couple of shots i did yesterday and today, I used the 50mm f.1.8 so there are a couple of nice sharp ones.
What do u think of the B&W??

18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 -

4. - the lack of sharpness in this is because it was at 200mm 1/40th, i did 9 shots, this was the least blurred.
