Woah, I've missed the last 3 sets up until now! GP you have excelled yourself! There are some real beautys in there. Looking back at the last ones from Snapper, the watch tower shot is great but I couldn't help but feel like the bottom of the shot was cropped, I actually sat here waiting for the image to finish loading thinking there was a bit more on the bottom.

The last one at Snapper is f-ing brilliant with the thongs in the sand, I cant think of any way to critique it other than the composition and DOF works really well, and that I feel like I've been there myself now. Great shot, one of the best I've seen on the forum.

As for the action shots, they are great as well. I always love the look of a natural panning circuit shot (as opposed to a PS'd one). Great job, you must have a steady hand for that.

Brilliant panning shots... At last, some non-spam panning shots! These are quality over quantity thumbsup.gif

Nice pics. What's the third one, some kind of seed pod or flower bud? Well composed smile.gif . Do you really want to do more to it? dunno.gif

I have no idea what kinda plant/tree it is i cut it back and now it's growing back. I just wanted to show just the one part might be a bit over down but i like it.

Nice job Ghetto, perhaps increased shadow for definition inside the pod would look good. Maybe even use a flash from the side so u can get extra shadows.

I bought a Nikon F55 with a Nikkor 28-80mm Film SLR and some Hoya Close up filters just for fun have already taken one roll of film can't wait to see the results.
All my lenses for my D50 work on it, it's cool as just gotta give it a real good clean.

awesome thumbsup.gif i rekon it would be great owning a digital slr and a film one. tops biggrin.gif

Ghetto Panda
Post #195

Well i put the 28-80mm from the F55 on my D50 with a +4 Close up filter and took these two shots it's not too bad pretty clear i know bad photo's but just playing around.
Get my first roll of film developed today they are gonna be shit as and not to mention boring photo's but oh well will see how i go. TD06 the camera i bought was cheap as just got it from Cash Converters every seems to be in working order and very well looked after.

Ok so i went and got my film developed and put on a cd as well.
Damn is film expensive and man i fucking suck and mega need to learn what i'm doing i only used some crap Kodak film from across at the chemist's so maybe some better film and definately some better techinque is needed but i will not give up lol, i must admit is was a bit more exciting wait to see the results even if they where shit here are the three pics that i kept all the rest where mega shit and these where not that special either.

btw all done in manual focus.

I really like them, you gotta love the contrast and quality you can get with film. Those 3 look really good.

Ghetto Panda
Post #199

I did up the contrast a little in ps but by a very small about but i agree the quality even at full size is far better.

TD 06
Post #200

BOOSTMEISTER
Post #201

So would it be accurate to take the photo in digital then once you are happy with the result take it on film with the same settings ??

Ghetto Panda
Post #202

I don't know i did'nt do that but it definately was a thought i will be giving it a go, but at first just wanted to see how i went which was bad lol.
I'm guessing it would be true to a degree anyone know?

DR1F7
Post #203

I guess it would depend on the sensors? All sensors see light differently I assume?

this shot is excellentIPB Image

how much did the film slr cost you?

Ghetto Panda
Post #205

It cost me $100 and it came with accesories probaly paid too much but oh well.
Well be doing enough roll of film soon.

Ghetto Panda
Post #206

Finally got out and took some photo's with the D50 it's been a little while nothing great and i know not the flower bud thing again but it is different lol.

vp_s_wagon
Post #207

number 2 is crystal clear, looks the shit.

Ghetto Panda
Post #208

I was going to sharpen that shot do you think that would be over kill just leave like it is or sharp it up?

vp_s_wagon
Post #209

^^^^I recon a quick unsharp mask could work quite well on it.

Moment
Post #210

maybe could have been shot with a slightly lower apature, the front on teh bud/leaf is out of focus and is distracting, either that or try a manual focus on something a little closer, because teh DoF usually extents 1/3 in front and 2/3 behind, so the foreground is always going to be harder to get in focus!
