dont do blow through, it will not be worth your while as when the fuel and the air go in it mixes them un evenly and will never run as well as an injected setup, your a better off switchin to come kind of injected engine and then turboing it

i don't want to draw through. the turbo i have doesn't have a carbon seal in the inlet side. as well, draw through has its own set of issues.

Cant really help you with the escort motor, but their are quite a few Impco set ups on Rotarys which are blow-through and they do work well wink.gif

I'm sure the basics are the same. can you give me details of the setups ? or failing that, can you put me onto the people who built/tuned the setup ?

You will need a different carby that is design to work with a forced induction "blow through" setup, normally NA carbys have been known to bend throttle butterflys under boost as there is very low pressure on one side, and very high pressure on the other.

There will be more but I is no LPG expect.

Possibly have to look at what type of gas convertor youd be using as you need one with higher pressure to still be able to flow gas into a pressurised system.

I've had many gas powered turbo cars. I'm a certified lp gas fitter and have tried out most of the gas syetems out there. My recomendation is use the impco convertor you have and use a gas research lp gas carby on it. It will suplly more than enough gas and good tunability.

naaaah. u can do it.
u can run the 200 in blow through, make sure you have a balance tube running from turbo outlet to converter. with a good tune, and nicely sized lpg feed tube, high flow lockoff, etc, u could make so good power.

my ltd is turbo'd, runs impco 225 with x1 ohg converter, and its still holding out at 8 psi.

did you set it up ? how do you go with tuning ? could i connect the balance pipe into the converter to the fiting on the turbo side of the mixer ? any help would be much appreciated.

hey mate, i had a gemini motor (isuzu G161) with a blow through LPG turbo setup on it.

I suggest gas research throttle body over the impco, jump onto the gas research website they have a great deal of good information to download!

make sure ur gas line is at least 5/16". any smaller and you'll starve of fuel.
are you running a cooler? if you are, plumb it up the usual way, with the mixer downstream. run the balance pipe (min 3/8") from converter lid to turbo-to-intercooler pipe.
as a starting point, set the cruise mixture to just under halfway, and richen the idle by a 1/4 turn. of course you must get the car on the dyno to verify.
you'd want to ensure your ignition system is perfect, so u dont get nasty backfires.

impco mixers are easier to setup and tune for lower boost applications than gas research. the only real benefit of gas research is that they ultimately can flow more, only useful for making big power.
