POTW... haha cheers, I was kinda hoping for one of these two to be nominated. http://image-cache.boostcruising.com/forum...72117216156.jpg http://image-cache.boostcruising.com/forum...11682345379.jpg Oh well, shit happens. QUOTE(puzzle man @ Nov 16 2006, 09:37 AM) number 1 find the composition a little cluttered. but numer 2 is nice I've been thinking about what my opinion is of these. Composition is fine. Perspective is good, colour is great - rich and saturated, but there was something that kept me wondering. I think it is the lights. They're clustered together in all of them... I'm sure that going back and playing around with the angles will nail it for you on another night if you explore a bit further. See if you can balance them out a bit more somehow. Maybe a wideangle will help to spread the lights out more? Although, it looks as though you might've used one when considering the prespective. Perhaps it's just the way the lights have been placed and your angles. Keep at it. It's a great location. What aperture/shutter settings were you using? - Mick |

QUOTE(zmit @ Nov 16 2006, 02:40 PM) yeah. one comment on the second last shoot..... HOW! do u get that kind of surreal imagery :S clarity is spectacular and it looks so surreal. (ur gonna absolutely kill me if u say photoshop ) There is no Photoshopping in them, other than very basic RAW editing. I can't explain how, it is just right place, right time. You have to wait for the right lighting to get a decent shot. Put some effort in and you would be amazed at what u can achieve. Mick, I used an f.22, 30 sec, ISO 100, 18mm. Yeh, I wish i had a 10-20mm, but I am wayyy too poor too get anything else, oh well, I might get one later on. Harry |

not bad mate.... i don't think you really need to "pan" with these things... the only thing moving is the propellor, and i had motion blur of them at 1/2000. |

Looking at number 11, its a sharp pan, but fuck me... your lens and or sensor is fucking filthy. You should try doing some tighter crops on all of them i reckon, put the 10.2 mp of the d80 to good use I kinda like the slightly wider stuff, it gives more perspective, but yeh, I should give some tighter stuff a try. They were still about 5mpixels after cropping. I had no idea my sensor was so dirty till today. I'm going to clean it now. Harry |

I recon I could have got some good shots at the Red Bull Air Race with a longer lens, I really needed at least 400mm to get some clear shots. |

Some guy she was with was telling me to take shots of her and put them everywhere so that people knew how she was ruining her life. |

QUOTE(vp_s_wagon @ Nov 14 2006, 12:21 AM) I went out and took a few tonight to help me relax after study... Here they are: 1. 2. 3. 4. That little kid was playing in the middle of the road while his mum was getting pissed with her freinds, when I got out of the car, after almost running him over because i didn't see him, his mum started abusing me and trying to hit me because i picked him up to get him off the road! I parked and sat about 100m away, within 2 mins, the kid was back off, wondering around the water's edge, his mum had no idea where he was... So i kept and eye on him till they took him home... Some people! Anyway, that's my rant Harry |

QUOTE(Moment @ Nov 26 2006, 08:05 PM) i like number 2, i feel it would be a much better shot if the liscence plate and the speed sign were cloned out. Otherwise i think teh square crop works well Cheers, I am not really into manipulation of shots, more adjustments but I gave that a shot, what do u think? I like it heaps more like this, looks so much more open on the highway and the car looks less modern Both number 2 and 3 were out of my car window at some random old bogan car which just happens to look good from certain angles.... shit from most. |
