yeh Nickle was right. I am cameraless and doing my exams... making me depressed.
I get the camera on Friday though so u can bet I'll be back up and running very soon.

I GOT MY D80!!
It is sooo cool! I love the 2.5" LCD and all the new features. Mostly I love the D200 sensor and OS, the ISO noise is so low! I was shooting as ISO 800 -1000 and It was almost perfect. Better than ISO 400 on my D50!
Still waiting for my Sigma 18-200mm so I am only using a (borrowed) 50mm f.1.8 right now.
Lens should arrive on wednesday or thursday.

I'll be doing some shots tommorow with it (probably just macro stuff) so I'll get them up soon.

Bloody hell, I'm still awaiting my D80 w/ 18-135mm

I was told 3-5 weeks about 2 or 3 weeks ago. So anxious.

The 1st couple of photos from the D80.
This thing is so sweet to use. I borrowed a mate's 18-70mm for the night. Still wating for my Sigma to arrive. It will be nice to actually own a lens.
When I get the Sigma there will be lots more updates.

Number two was taken at ISO 640 with no noise reduction at all (not even in-camera)... ISO noise?

Wow they turned out great! Are you gunna post up more of that set?? ... wait of course you are.... just not that early in the morning...

That one in the carpark turned out a lot better than I expected and ur right about the shadows in the corner, they look great. How much did u do in photoshop with these? They look very close to original...

The alley looks nice too. Its got a wicked green tinge.. reminds me of slime... pretty cool hahaha

Those two pics are a pretty damn good introduction to the D80 Harry, looks like a nice little weapon you have there mate. I really like the second one in the alley.

I did add some contrast and some shadows, not a whole lot though. The color has actually been desaturated a bit, the camera absorbs ALOT of color! I even had the internal processing stuff turned off so that there is no in-camera saturation or contrast. Still comes out great through.

I'll put a couple more up later on.

They only took my name and number over the phone and said they'll contact me when they get them in. I just hope not many others have done the same at the shop.

I just got off the phone with them i can put money down now to secure the camera (which i'll be doing) but it's a month's wait till they are EXPECTED to come in so it will probaly be longer as the backlog right now is a month so i'll see how i go not in that much of a hurry anyway.

If u get the opportunity, get one from the UK. Mine was insanley cheap with the VAT rebate. They have a fair few of them too.
Quickest method is eBay. Some ppl don't like it though.

I just got my Sigma 18-200mm today, ordered it off ebay from a reputable store a few days ago, I have never had an eBay problem when using a store.
I'll post up some shots from the new lens soon.

I picked up my D80 body a couple of days ago. Fantastic piece of gear. Feels great in hand but as it's my first DSLR, that's not much to go by. The large LCD is really nice to use though, very crisp.

Just awaiting lenses... then I may begin.

I have been sooooo busy, I haven't had time to take any decent shots.
I feel bad putting up anything less than what I would consider to be a good shot. I feel as though it is a bad reflection on this camera!
I am sooo happy with it!

All the images you are doing with a higher iso look very sharp i can't see any noise at all.
Can't wait till you get time to take shots what iso for the city shots?.

I am so happy with this non-existant ISO noise! It's invisible at 100% crop!
The city shots are ISO100, 30sec, f.11
