Howdy all,

Well here are a few of my photo's have only been doing this for about 7-8 months but due to work i really don't have a lot of time to really take photo's thus a very slow learning curve. I use a Nikon D50 some comments and critism would be very welcome.

I have a Nikon 18-55mm and a Tamron 70-300mm.
I shot in JPEG Fine.

Go and take another photo of the tap with the water running - however, do it at about 5.30 (use a tripod) and get some exposure on it - that'll look cool tongue.gif

Skate board and Darren's car: both awesome photos

Nice lenses!
I always used to shoot in JPEG fine, then I tried RAW, JPEG... dude u should seriously try it, with a little bit of extra software (all free) and if u spend an extra 30 seconds on each pic they can look a thousand times better.
I have the same camera and I have just ordered the same second lense as u, so i am in the same situation and trust me... it is SOOOOO much better!

If u want the software (its just ifanview and a photoshop plugin) just PM me and I'll send it 2 u.

Cheers

Tried shooting in RAW once and when i went to view my pics they where stuipdly small, mind you i did'nt open them with Photoshop (I have Adobe Photoshop CS2) so maybe i need the software you are talking about if so then yeah i'll grab it off you for sure.

This is the software, its just a plugin for CS2. When u preview them, just use the mode on ur camera that does JPEG and RAW so u can view the JPEG's fast and choose which RAW's u want to keep and edit etc.

That silvia, what a weird ass exhaust. wonder if thats good for flow.

Nice stuff man, I like. The only thing u should watch for is the placement of moving things in the frame. U should always have the path the moving object is about to go on in front of them and very little of the path from behind them. It makes it nicer to look at because they are easier for the eye to follow. I am refering to the pic of the MG btw.

Other than that, great work.

Cheers

Here's a couple more from yesterday. I like the one of my son on the floor but the light on the ground annoys me but i still think it came out alright. And the windmill was'nt taken in RAW and too me does'nt look as good.

i like that last one, but as u said, raw would have been better. what ISO were using? is seems quite high, my thoughts would be to have it on an ISO of 200 and f.18-f.22 so the powerlines are clearer. still good though, and easily fixable if u needed to.
I also love the one of ur son, it has alot of movement and i like it.

Yeah ISO was 800 and f/4.2 i now really not good settings but i was walking home after taking those construction shots and just quickly took the pic as i was actually standing in the middle of the road pretty much and it's a pretty damn busy road so took it qiuckly did'nt even bother changing the settings my bad sad.gif

Yeh i feel that! It always used to happen to me, now i just leave it on apature priority ('A') and leave the ISO at 200 all the time so i just turn the wheel to chose an apature, point and shoot!

U mean close the aperture!
U wanna set ur camera at ISO 100-200, or as low as it goes.
Get a tripod, set the exposure to about 5-30secs
set ur aperture at about f.16 or higher, no higher than about f.28, point and shoot (use a remote or self timer so u dont shake the camera when u press the button).
They are pretty easy to do.

Ghetto Panda,
Just be careful of overlooking the actual composition of the photo when doing them, dont just concentrate on getting the lights in, make sure the rest of the pic is good too. I found the best place to get interesting ones it from high vantage points over busy roads.
I know my first set were cool coz of the lights but they were actually shit photos except for one!
Yours are better than mine but they could still do with some work.

Cheers
Harry
