I just thought I would add a couple of edited versions of some previous shots, tell me what u think (better or worse?)
They have been either Re-Cropped, had Color Adjustments, had Photoshop Filters put on or just had Contrast and Brightness Adjusted.
Most have had more than one thing.

1. (Watercolor Filter and Cropped)
2. (Neon Filter and Cropped)
3. (Cropped, Brightness and Contrast)
4. (Cropped)
5. (Color, Brightness, Contrast, Cropped)
6. (Color, Brightness, Contrast and Cropped)

C & C Welcome as usual

Cheers

if i must tongue.gif

on the 2nd n 3rd of the last batch, i think it'd work better with the horizon line in it.

on the last two, i see what you were trying to portray, though high contrast on a TINY bit underexposed shot might've worked better rather than simply under exposed which is how it looks on my monitor.

if you don't want me to post this version, let me know and i'll pull it off.

but heres my take on it, i'm sure you could do much better with the full version

don't be afriad to 'enhance' photos in photoshop - who gives 2 shits what method you use to end up with good photos, aslong as they impress people smile.gif

curves adjustment, contrast, -37 saturation, and about 40% LBA warming filter.

not sure which you prefer, if you prefer yours - than stick with it.

WOW! I gotta get better at using photoshop!!
That looks soo much better, It's still a bit dark and gloomy like I wanted, but now it looks like it was a cloudy day rather than a clear one (which it was).
I love it!!
I'm entering that into the arts comp at school so I'll be using those settings on the original!
Oh and the 2nd and 3rd ones would look good if the horizon was land, but its not. Its ocean and it just doesnt fit in with the theme. It looks better with earthier colors rather than bright blue.

Cheers for the help
Much apreciated.

Anyone else?

Cheers. Number 2 is my favourite.
The boarders are done on a preset, I use the batch processing option and they are given a boarder relative to their size. I'll try and change the settings though.

I have been running out of time places (damn Perth!) and petrol lateley so I have not got the best set of pics this time. I do however like a couple of them.
I will go somewhere good on the weekend and get some nice ones, I just need more time to get around, W.A is a rather large place!

Here they are.

I have NFI who's corolla that is, I just took it of a random guy while I was driving back from taking the other pics of the Bell Tower (Stupidest idea perth has ever had)!

1. (this was a 1/2 sec exposure in the car.) 2.
3. 4. 5.
6. 7. 8.

Let me know what u think.

Cheers

Twist,
I cut down on the border size just for you!
I agree, they were 2 big, it looks better now.

I also changed the pics on the previous page and put up the photoshopped versions with smaller frames, they look heaps better now.

Hey all,

I have been a bit lazy and got hardly any decent shots this week so i'll be sure 2 go out this weekend and have a bash.

4.

C&C welcomed as usual

I like number four too, but I think a bit more depth of feild on that shot and it would have been awesome.

vp_s_wagon
Post #61

I said that I would go out this weekend to get some shots and thats just what I have done.

None of them are photoshopped, just cropped a bit and a very slight contrast adjustment here and there.

So here they are.
I'm a bit annoyed at how busy the background of some of the tractor pics are. There were heaps of trees and stuff there, it's a little hard to move trees (they are quite large) so I spose i'll just have to live with it.

Comments and criticisms welcomed.

1. 2. 3.
4. 5. 6.
7. 8. (one with and one without a border)

If anyone would like the full sized versions of any of my pics, current or previous they can PM me and I will email them free of charge. I'm not doing this for money. Except for the beach pic which I won POTW for on June 4th because, being a dipshit, I overwrote the full-sized with the framed version (god I'm smart!).

I hope you like them.

Yeh i agree the only prob is that there is a pizza oven in my back yard just a bit higher up and it looks bad in the pic. Its a bugger.

Cheers for the comments though

Nice shots again, looking good! Very little if anything I dislike about any of your last few posts, good to see...keep them coming!

vp_s_wagon
Post #66

Cheers mate.
Please tell me what you dont like, I still very much a beginner and i could do with all the help possible.
It was a bit of a shitty time of day for photos as it was pretty dark and it was freehand with an exposure time of 1/8th of a sec so there were lots of blurry ones.

jimeegee
Post #67

The darkness is about all that wasn't working for me in some pics, but I'm not using my usual monitor, so I can't really comment on that sort of stuff until my laptop is fixed. Otherwise maybe a bit overboard with the depth of field on the first leaf shot, but hey, still a cool effect. I doubt I could tell you anything you don't already know about your pics smile.gif I'll keep an eye on your posts though and give you any useful input I can... thumbsup.gif

Cheers for the feedback.
Yeh, i know what you mean about the brightness on other monitors, i have a HD Laptop screen so when I look at the pics at school they look crap on the un-adjusted or old screens. I wil try and get some new leaf pics next week with a diff depth of field.

Ok,as a photo this is not the best shot I've taken, but I still think it's kinda cool.

I have the ability to jump over abnormally high things from a standstill (the only talent I posess). so I thought I would get a couple of shots of it because it looks kinda cool, this is what I got.

The height of the obstacle (my tripod, 130cm) compared to me (166cm).

The Jump.

Jumping over my Little cousin.
----> --->

These shots are real, although for some reason they look a little bit photoshopped (except for the B&W one which of course IS photoshopped, but only thorough color and taking crap off the wall.)

Oh and the moon!
Forgot about that one!

Cheers
Harry
