I have read that this might be a more common thing than i thought, im tryiny yo fix it now... My 92 E36 has ripped the RHF and LHR Rear subframe mounts clean out of the floor. I am lucky enough to have access to a paint and panel shop and they are thinking of welding in new subframe braces. What is the M3 mounts and reinforcement kits i read about? Its up on the hoist as i write, so a quick responce is a good responce. -------------------- E36 320i 4DR - Hi-Flow Intake - Ported head on M50B20 - M3 Stainless Exhaust - M3 19 inch Rims - RaceLand adjustable suspension Package - M3 Leather Interior - Rebuilt 5Spd - LSD - Cruise/Windows/Sunroof - 12 Speaker Audio(No Subs)- Iridium Plugs - 328i Coil Packs - 137.57KW 4Now

Now I gotta source the reinforcement kit, I have been searching for an Australian based part supplier but with no luck, Ideally Brisbane. I am awaiting email from turners with shipping details but meanwhile working through a list of smash repairs to find a local contact.....will post the out come but any ideas always help =) |

Right we went with plan "B" - Welded in original mounts but used steel twice the thickness of the body steel, So far clean job, took me 2.5 hours to strip it and 6 hours for the Boilermaker plus shop supplies. Taken 3 days at the workshop so far and I'll be Rustproofing the floor before I reassemble the rear driveline and suspension. In another few months the LSD and new struts will be going in so as i found on the net there are reinforcement/track-spec for most parts of the E36 thanks to M3 technology and the after-market world. |
