Thanks guys. Yep it's a manual, wanted to avoid troubles with an SMG. Not sure on power, but it wouldn't be that much more than stock. The N/A engine doesn't do too well with mods, really need to supercharge or turbo it to get significantly more power.

It would put out more then enough power. Such a good chassis means you don't need 10,000rwhp to enjoy it.

    Great car.

So far so good...but you never know with these things. I get the subframe mounts inspected by my mechanic every service (~10,000kms).

I never used to be keen at all on BMW's.

    Damn beaten to subframe question.
Wasn't aware of subframe issues till I bought a 325ci and it was underneath the body by the time I got home sad.gif. Luckily had an awesome dealer and said we will repair it or money back. BMW gave me a 10,000 quote.

Have you reinforced the subframe? You can by kits these days!

Yeah I've thought about reinforcing it, but my mechanic thinks for the amount to buy and install one, it'll cost the same as repairing a small hairline crack if I catch it early enough. Of course if it's really bad it can be $10k+. I might still do it later down the track. The E46 M3 has its issues from the SMG, subframe, conrod bearing, vanos...etc. But I've always loved the shape so happy to own one!
