all fixed, went in for repairs two weeks ago. took 3 days, they ended up repairing the guard that was on the car.

i went to MSY and bought a 64Gb microSD card for the dash cam ($35 as opposed to $79 at JbHiFi). it's all fitted up now and ready for use. thumbsup.gif

gotta drop the oil now / change the filter. will do that over the next day or two. maybe. i'm busy procrastinating atm mamoru.gif

And as far as procrastinating goes, you're allowed to on Boxing Day,if you're not out shopping for bargains,I think you are supposed to be at the beach (bloody good day for it down here).

yup, any time that you're after something computer / tech related, always check MSY and Umart first. they're wholesalers to the industry and located australia wide / main cities etc. significantly cheaper than dealing with most commercial companies / harvey norman / jbhifi / officeworks / box stores etc.

as much as i'm cashed up, i don't actually need anything shuff's, except for maybe a new computer chair. not in any hurry, i'll get it on special and/or wait 'til then. i always shop for specials and then multiple buy items at the supermarket etc.

i'd rather save my dosh for car parts. mamoru.gif

Meant to ask you if you were happy with the repair job they did on your car,as far as paint matching, etc.I think Doc and I bought our computer chairs at the same place (Office Works),I posted a picture of my blue one,he said 'nice chair',and posted a pic of an identical red one! mamoru.gif

All of it,old mate has admitted to doing it on purpose so we've sued his insurance company for their client breaching the contract so they are preparing for a once off settlement, partner is still going with injuries at the moment. Its 6 months and counting for her out of work.

He must've been on something,Jesus wept,I hope you two are compensated fairly, and generously, and he gets a stint out of this. He agreed in a statement that rage took over after i asked him for some space from tail gating and lost the plot. Unfortunately these things do happen and i'm 99% sure we'll get looked after and will be serving some time behind bars once our lawyers are finished. We are doing this in two separate cases as there was two of us so it technically means two settlements and duplicate charges.

the job could have been done better - and no doubt would have been if if an 'insurance claim' had been made. i 'looked after them' somewhat in not demanding that certain work be performed to an insurance claim level of quality, ie the entire front bar be removed and resprayed, new guard, wheel repaired etc etc.

not really happy truth be told, but that's probably because i'm a bit pedantic with regards to my property and looking after it. they never readjusted the guard / front bumper alignment, the guards a bit twisted / out of alignment, but i'll fix that eventually, just a matter of undoing a nut somewhere in there, adjusting it and re-tightening. small thing, though i noticed it immediately.

The overall damage was my bike,a newish company ute,1 week old 4x4 caravan & 2 month old Toyota Prado and his own ute. The police tallied $243,000 damage done in 30 seconds and that doesn't include the two power poles the caravan snapped and flung 40 metres and the call out for 3 fire crews for the bush fire that started after the caravan exploded. I was considering filing a lawsuit with him personally to royally fcuk him but i want it to be over so i can move on.

I've heard from two sources that the other people involved have already started legal proceedings aswell. At first we were blamed by the old couple in the 4WD/Caravan because they could see us weaving as they didn't see the ute, later reports confirmed that the ute had us pinned to the ute in front to the point it wasn't visible to oncoming traffic.

I fully understand the risk when riding thankfully,no matter how much gear you wear sometimes it could not be enough.

So is that near you,and borderline fresh water? We are 140klms from the sea,by river, and it is still tidal, so we get the odd Bull Shark around here

Hope you have a great Christmas break,Alpha, and the same applies to the regular posters on here. thumbsup.gif

They are up past Colleges crossing and can get up to Ipswich, the bull sharks can adapt to fresh water, but they don't seem to get much bigger in fresh water.

Merry Xmas one and all

So K,did you get to throw any snowballs around on Christmas Day?

No Christmas day was a pleasant 10° or so. There was zero snow left. Boxing day got cold, back down to near zero degree but was lovely and sunny.

Today however is a big winter storm and has been snowing all night. -5° with a wind chill making it feel like -12.
Just in time for us to leave. ...we're at the airport to head to new York for new years eve. Where it's still unseasonably warm. Ie. Around 20°

Bottom pic is 430pm boxing day and top photo was 9am this morning (27th)

Nah not doing times square. ..ridiculously crowded, can't take food or drink, or alcohol, no toilets. And just a colorful ball. We've booked a roof top bar with table service and open bar from 9pm-2am.

The Easybeats frontman Stevie Wright dies aged 68

The Easybeats frontman Stevie Wright has died aged 68, according to reports.

The lead singer died last night in a hospital on the NSW south coast after falling ill on Boxing Day, music journalist Paul Cashmere reported.

The Sydney rock band recorded hits including 'Friday on My Mind', 'She's so Fine', 'Sorry', and 'Good Times'.

The band disbanded in the 1960s, and Wright enjoyed a successful solo career that included the release of 'Evie'.

Wright was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2005, and last performed at the Legends of Rock Festival in 2009, according to Cashmere.

He died in Moruya hospital about 6pm, Cashmere said.

Rock historian Glenn Baker has also told News Talk 6PR that Wright has died.

Was impressed with the external view of the building, can't begin to imagine how opulent the internal views would be. Probably a wise move not to go to Times Square,on top of your points,I'd imagine the security there would be painful, after recent terrorism events

Yes Holiday view at Moreton Island, looking back to my place, it is a bitch there are no hills like on Moreton at Bribie. Tangalooma is a great place to visit snorkel the wrecks etc, we were very lucky on Boxing day, the water was crystal clear, so i burleyed up the tarwhine and whiting and we had a Dolphin feeding right between the kids and friends, fn magic an no need to pay the stupid robotic dolphin feeding crap they pull each night, they are the same dolphins that scab off the crab pots etc, so they don't mind people.
Even for a day trip with a lunchtime low tide, just take the ferry from brisvegas, drift down to the wrecks, snorkle till the tide turns, drift back, have a beer catch the ferry back, like a poor mans reef experience, take heaps of scraps the fish go batshit crazy.
