Incidentally, I just asked Che. He ran a 12.2. So that sounds about right to me. Half a second or so off the 1/4 for 50hp. Is it worth 30k though? That I'm not so sure about... plenty of different ways to up the power, all expensive though. and all down to the personal judgement of the owner as to whether it's worth it or not. |

I guess that is always the quandry, the fact that an average bloke for a total of $30k can probably build an old school commodore that will spank that by 2 seconds if drag racing is your game, stick to the tastefull legal mods and enjoy it the way it is |

Yeah, if straight-line speed was what I was after...well, I wouldn't have bought an R8! |

Well the season is over. testing is almost over for 2015 now its time to switch to 4 wheels for the monza rally show again Up against Ken Block,I wonder if Ken is allowed to do 27 practice runs, just to improve his performance, did you notice in that spy video you posted of him in L.A.,even though it only showed one run,how much rubber was already on the road? Yeah, if straight-line speed was what I was after...well, I wouldn't have bought an R8! At the end of the day, even with his SC kit, my car has cost me roughly twice what his cost him...factoring in the much higher purchase price (mine was much newer and better optioned) and then the far too much I have spent on it since. Hell, I spent almost as much as he did on power just getting mine to stop better! Guess that shows where our priorities are lol I have convinced myself that rather than chasing that rabbit down the power rabbit-hole, I can wait the 12 months or so until I buy my NEXT car, which will have 620hp out of the box. I just remind myself of that, whistle a distracting tune and look the other way from SC and TT kits... A case of what comes first, the chicken or.....it's OK to give them plenty of 'go fast',but at the end of the day,you have to be able to stop.I remember seeing an interview with Dick Johnson, years ago, where he said, when giving rank outsiders a ride in a V8 Supercar, more people were impressed with its stopping power, than its acceleration |

Ken Block is like Jacky Chan. Everything you see is one take, although it may be the 131st take. |

I HAAAATE KEN BLOCK and all the hype around him if you wanna see some real ONE TAKE skill.. watch this. <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" height="468" width="625" data="https://www.youtube.com/v/oh_HtCzHUgg"><param name="movie" value="https://www.youtube.com/v/oh_HtCzHUgg"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain"><param name="quality" value="best"><param name="bgcolor" value="#FFFFFF"><param name="scale" value="noScale"><param name="salign" value="TL"><param name="FlashVars" value="playerMode=embedded" /><param name="wmode" value="transparent"/></object> ... I don't see anything nearly as impressive as the stuff Block manages there. BUT...that's the advantage of being able to do it as many times as you want! Once again, Jacky Chan. |

so i wonder actually how many "takes" they do when filling his Gymkhana lol LOL!Watched that one,it highlights a couple of his problems,he needs to spend more time perfecting 'the Scandinavian Flick',and at the 3:38 mark, you can see he needs to provide his navigator with a couple of pillows,so he can actually see over the dash |

After yesterdays heat,we have a lightly overcast day here, which is great, because they forecast 42 degrees for here today, and it's currently only 32,thank fcuk! We've been inundated with beetles, here the last couple of nights, bloody things seem to be able to muscle their way inside, then buzz around, like punch drunk frisbees. This morning when I went down to grab the paper, they were an inch deep across the footpath, and the road at the front of the shop, had two wheel tracks of squashed beetles |

this would be why I saw a couple of trucks heading into the city on Friday night carrying steel fencing and bollards. QUOTE G20 Brisbane: Anyone need 30km of ugly steel fencing?
As the pack-up began in Brisbane last night, it remains to be seen what will happen to the thousands of bollards, gates, security barriers and galvanised steel fences that kept the delegates in and the public out at the G20 Summit. The much-maligned "ring of steel" from Sydney's APEC summit proved a headache for its owners, who had it sitting idle for three years after the 2007 summit before trying to flog it at auction for a quarter of the price. It cost taxpayers $2 million to hire the controversial 2.8-metre high fence from Coates that was used to block off the Opera House and CBD - much to the annoyance of Sydneysiders - and protect guests, including then prime minister John Howard, then US president George Bush, then Russian prime minister Vladimir Putin and former Chinese president Hu Jintao The imposing fence gained international notoriety when it was breached by members of the ABC TV comedy troupe, The Chaser's War on Everything, who were waved through by APEC security with a comedian dressed as Osama bin Laden. But despite its fame, five kilometres of fencing was eventually put up for auction for $500,000 with some interest from sheep farmers. Once again, Coates Hire will be left with a whopping 30 kilometres of fencing following the Brisbane G20 Summit, which had a perimeter six times the size of Sydney's. The company has not yet indicated what it will do with the equipment. The federal government paid $2.9 million to hire the fencing, security barriers and gates that placed Brisbane in lockdown for the weekend-long summit. "All the fencing and related equipment will be returned to the contractor," a G20 spokesman said. The dismantling of fences and security perimeters was due to start yesterday afternoon as the motorcades departed and the leaders waved goodbye. Some of the 1500 interstate police have made their way home, along with the heavy police machinery like the NSW BearCat and water cannon - both of which were not used. |

VK,I told you fitting a missile launcher to your tinny was not the done thing Yep, I was just out of the driveway heading into work at the time and saw them coming in pretty bloody hot and low, all I could think of is what clusterfk has occurred and what sort of shitfight I would face over it at work, but thankfully everything went like clockwork. The heat kept all but the super keen protesters out, the ring leaders were pinged way before reaching the city as they had been on watch for a few days. All in all it went very smoothly and QLD gets the benefit of a change to the latest secure digital radio network for all public safety agencies, it will progress to the world biggest over time. |
