so.....I pulled the roof lining out of the rx7 yesterday - I had to sort out why the analogue radio wasn't tuning stations, and thought that I may have damaged the cable fiddling around with it - I'd had it apart a week or two prior. |

What a dog act setting up a mobile sit out there. yeah I can't see why it'd change back to 100. it's all 110 pretty much from when you hit the border / enter NSW |

Hat's off to downshift for organising everything / and the enthusiasts that attended for their good behaviour and the resulting positive image that has been portrayed through the cruise. QUOTE Police, car enthusiasts bond during Paul Walker memorial drive
A charity drive to remember Fast and the Furious actor Paul Walker has been praised as a major boost for the relationship between southeast Queensland's car enthusiasts and police. Queensland's anti-hooning legislation has at times created tension between car enthusiasts and police, and prior to Sunday's event organisers and authorities warned participants that anti-social behaviour and hooning would not be tolerated. About 20 road policing command staff, from multiple stations across Brisbane and the Gold Coast, were on hand throughout the afternoon and night to help direct the estimated 4000 to 5000 vehicles involved in the cruise. However, Senior Sergeant Peter Liebig from the road-policing unit in Coomera said by the end of the day only a small number of participants had had a run-in with police. “There has been a few people intercepted and provided with some infringement notices but from what I understand from staff that have contacted me, nothing excessive,” he said. Downshift Australia director Matyas Fulop said the behaviour of the participants has been outstanding. “Frankly I am surprised at how good it has been. Maybe it is owing to our boys in blue coming along and assisting,'' he said. “All credit to them [the drivers], they have been great. They have been fantastic in working with us and I cannot be more grateful.” Blake Prior was part of the large motorcycle contingent that took part in the cruise and only had positive things to say about the police involved. “This has done great things for the police in my eyes,” he said. “They have been nothing but nice and helpful all day and it has been really good to see for a change.” Mr Fulop said the event was a great chance to show police the difference between a hoon and a genuine car enthusiast. “The behaviour of car enthusiasts on the whole has been fantastic,” he said. “I have actually been approached by a number of police who are present looking to organize events in the future where they will be able to participate - not in the usual punitive sort of fashion but more in terms of helping us out and education and building a relationship between enthusiasts and police.” Mr Fulop added he was impressed by the number of people who had taken part in the cruise, after initally expecting up to about 1000 cars. “The turnout has been absolutely fantastic,” he said. “It has been so much larger than we had originally hoped for, but it’s awesome to see that people are supporting a good cause as well as coming out and having a good time.” The number of drivers involved meant there were traffic delays on both the M1 as the cruise began, and at Hamilton, where it finished with one of Downshift’s monthly car meets. Money raised at the event will be donated to Paul Walker's charity, Reach Out World Wide. |

I actually saw that reporter there. Alph, the wheels are: they're not to bad I spose, as long as you're happy with them. sry I come across as a little bit unenthusiastic, it's just that I'd have gone for an aftermarket choice / wheel supplier as opposed to a factory wheel. factory wheels tend to look fairly hideous, they're generally made by bean counters with no fashion sense for the cheapest price possible. still your car's rare enough that a 'factory' wheel would still be rare. |
