Turns out the V8's aren't all that great in the E series so im back on the Turbo Build doing a Garret GT35/40 and getting a quote on a dump pipe, piping,Intercooler,BOV all with a tune

    scottyg938
    Post #24

Keep an eye on that seller i posted if your looking for a garret gt35r cause that's what i had on mine, as well as a turbo smart bov and wastegate.

Do you know roughly what id be expecting to pay for a Garret GT35 Turbo + piping, Turbo Manifold, BOV, Turbo timer, dump pipe and Intercooler, can i use the XR6T intercooler? this was a list my mate told me to get but im not 100% sure what else i need besides from a tune once its done any help will be appreciated smile.gif also has the Ebay seller crashed his car or something?

you will need an aftermarket ECU and upgraged fuel system, the XR6T cooler should be fine for the power you will get from it, mine got 212KW at a dyno day although apparently the dyno was reading low from what others where saying.

Can't remember how much it all ended up costing me, i gave up on keeping total after a while.

No idea what happened to the car, when i sold it to them they where going to use it as a drift car, now a few parts a popping up so not really sure.

I currently have the Tickford Computer so i guess ill sell that and buy a new Aftermarket Computer, and okay sweet ill source the Turbo and Intercooler and when you mean fuel system does that consist of the Fuel Pump and anything else? Cheers and okay sweet ill message him asking smile.gif

you will need the pump and injectors, im not sure what else, mine was duel fuel and i never got around to upgrading the petrol system just the gas, that also meant i didn't need to upgrade the ECU so i can't recommend one of those either.

Yeah you wont be able to tune the ticky computer so you will probs be up for around 2k for a decent aftermarket computer, i think i paid about 2k for the gt35r.

Honestly in the long run it would turn out cheaper and more reliable to get a BA XR6 turbo engine from a wreck and transplant that into it, which would also get you more power a lot easier

mate if your gonna put a v8 in it go get a ford au series 1 or 2 302.. 220kw v8 with plenty of mods still to take place....
myself i love the six i find theres jus as much power as the 8... 99 au i6 vs 220v8 ba.... he asked me if i had a 5 litre.
as for mods id be thanging sprk plugs, leads, coil pack, a stge 3 electronic shiftkit, get your self some v8 or blue ba fg injectors for turbo rising rate regulator probably have to do battery relocation for turbo application.... as for aftermarket computers stuff paying 5 6 hundred for aftermarket...... loot at these guys and get a custon tune for your parts. www.tiperformance.com.au email jason and ask him. lots of ford i6 pullin more than 250kw
