My comments, for the most part, are always taken seriously. I provide lots of technical knowhow on this forum. But I find great pleasure in putting down tryhards like yourself who prove they cleary know nothing about cars by the comments they make. How is my car "FnF" spec? Does it have a cannon, neons or a decals? I didn't build my car to impress people. I built it how I wanted it. 140 odd KW + 900kg in a good chassis = fun.

You obviously have no idea about performance judging by the way you badmouth anything that isn't a failure of an economic family car. I'm also assuming you're a dual of one of the Mitsubishi fan club that's posted their POS this week that's too afraid to try and act tough on their main account. Your sarcastic name kinda gives it away too. wavey.gif

Well, thanks for calling me a 'tryhard', that hurts, and good for you for providing lots of technical information, at least you bother to educate yourself. The first thing that came to mind when I saw your car was Fast & the Furious, and I don't apologise for my instant reaction to it.

The problem with guys like you is that it's a superiority game on these forums... who has the 'fastest' and the 'best' cars. Why not just let people enjoy their cars for what they are? I don't consider Civic's performance cars, and yet... obviously some do (such as yourself). If Joe Bloggs wants to post a thread on their Hyundai Excel, Kia Rio, or Mazda 323 (as examples) it shouldn't actually matter to you what they drive, should it? I don't drive a 380 Mitsubishi - but why disrespect someone who does, if they happen to enjoy driving it and take some pride in it. I don't think the poster was stating the 380 was the best/fastest/most advanced car ever built. If you don't like/approve of the car, don't post in this guys thread!

If you go back you'll see I was correcting misinformation about fuel grades. Then pajero boy decided to try the superiority game wink.gif

Oh and just so u know, I think stock Civic's are slow economy cars. But my car is far from stock.

Yes, I also see that you were being a smart ass and having a bit of fun with some proposed modifications (owner can do what he wants with his car), and the 6G75.

At the end of the day, you're driving a mass produced, urban runabout that in stock trim was never designed to be a performance vehicle and has no real performance cred. If you had a M spec BMW sitting in the garage I might not have bothered replying. How much money have you put into your Honda's engine to get it to its current state? You naively call me a try hard (please educate me on what exactly I'm trying hard to be?), yet it seems as though you're trying pretty hard to make your car something that it's not. Again, how can you expect to be taken seriously?

If you really want to play that game...

The OP posted a large list of parts with an estimate cost of $5k. The lol was because he should add a few more grand. I could have been what you may consider disrespectful and elaborated, like how the brakes would have to be a custom kit and cost around $4k on their own, but I didn't. If you'd been on this forum longer than a few days you'd understand why ppl get short when dreamers post stuff like that on here. And it's a public forum. If you don't want criticism, don't post your damn car. The OP didn't take anything to heart judging from his responses. So I don't see where your knight in shining armour attitude comes from.

As for the 6G75, it's a low compression, SOHC, economy engine that was built for the masses as a heart of a family saloon. Compare that to a DOHC, VVT equipped VQ35DE that is actually designed to run on high octane fuel and was classified as one of the top 10 engines of the year over a 5 year period, and you understand why I said the VQ is a bit better. Old mate with the Pajero was the one having a dig at the Nissan engine and Honda's. So I don't know where you're getting that I'm the one being a smart ass when you and him are the only ones that have gone out of their way to try and be rude in this thread up until now.

And since you asked, I've done most of the work on my car myself. So it really hasn't cost me shit. EG Civic's share the same chassis as DC2 Integra's. Which was considered to be one of the greatest FWD chassis' of it's time. The only reason I went with the jap spec, LSD equipped, 1.6L is because I pretty much got it for nothing. It puts out as much power and has a better gearbox than the AUDM 1.8L from a VTi-R Integra anyway. Apart from that my car is basically a lighter hatch shell on an Integra chassis/suspension. Why would I want to just buy a stock Integra for a weekender when I can do something a bit more unique that handles better and goes harder for a fraction of the price? That's what being a car enthusiast is about. Not raving on about how many km's you get per tank and doing pointless mods. I don't claim it's the best thing around. It's far from it. But I built it to have fun. And that's what I do with it.

'Tryhard' came from how you've tried to act all high and mighty with all of your responses. Not just in this thread. Even though you don't really know what you're on about. And that's how I came to this conclusion.

I see ppl like you come and go from here all the time. I can tell you're only here to stick up for the guys that posted their family cars from your name and the way you try to talk down to others. The sooner you do the go-ing part, the better IMO.

Well, more interesting responses from you. You make a lot of assumptions about me given you have absolutely no idea who I am (& therefore don't really know what you're on about either). It is a public forum - so if you want to dish out criticism to others, then prepare to receive it back. I've made some valid points about your car that you've chosen not to take into account in your response. I suppose that says it all really. FYI I have absolutely no problems with the powerplant in the Maxima, and am well aware they are a highly regarded engine, I just happen to think the 6G75 does what it does very well. Enjoy your car. And maybe I will hang around BC awhile - apparently folks like you don't like to have your authority challenged.

Oh you mean the bit where you think Civic's were only designed as runabouts? Did I mention the engine, (tight ratio, LSD equipped) gearbox, larger brakes and a few interior/exterior parts are from an EG6? Which is the Japanese sports model. The same model that comes standard with the same suspension as an Integra Type-R. Hmm, don't think I did.
