So Here is my baby in all her pride and glory

I Bought the car almost stock with stupid 19" Wheels and poorly lowered Suspension almost 5 years ago. Since then I have basically modified every stock standard part in the car.









Modifications Include:

JDM Black clear tail lights
Full Vertex Body Kit
Volk Racing GTC wheels measuring 18x8" and 18x9" on Toyo T1R Tyres

SR20DET - Fully reconditioned and built with 100mm cast iron sleeves

Power: 263kw atw I haven't 1/4 miled it yet but I have managed a 0-100km time in 4.7 seconds with A LOT of wheel spin measured on the Apexi RSM on a street surface on the Toyo T1Rs.

Needless to say the car is very fast, very loud and handles like it is on rails. It gets me into plenty of trouble.


Here is a video to make things even better. Please note the car sounds much better and lumpier than this it is just due to it being recorded on a average camera.

    More tasteful than most the cars on here.

    I am not a fan of s15's but you would have to be an idiot to say this isn't a nice car.

    Yeah the whole modification process was really a "Less is More" approach.

    I tried to modify the in a way of "How should it have come from factory" I've tried to make the car look as 'stock' as possible as well as powder coating everything in the engine bay black to keep the constabulary away.

    Apart from plenty of speeding tickets I've never once had any 'Random' problems with this car if you know what I mean.

    This is going to sound a bit smart arse but I don't think a body kit. FMIC and volk gt-c's are a way to make a car look like it came like that factory.

    Well I guess the whole "How should it have come from factory" was a bit more influence than keeping it stock.

    But the wheels and body kit I thought to the untrained eye look like they belong and came from factory.

    i agree with street tuned. This does look relatively factory to the untrained eye (except maybe the tail lights and obviously the exhaust)

    They are nice cars but they just aren't for me.
    I just don't like the shape. They can look pretty cool with a 180sx front end on them, lol.

    Nice man. People always go all out to try and be different and 'one up' the last guy but most of the time its great to have something that has been modified tastefully and wont really go out of fashion.

    Also I thought I heard you say on the forum a few times your car runs high 11's but you said you haven't taken it down the quarter mile yet??

    Yes that is right mark however the 11.7 was in a different specification, old tune, Stock Shocks and Springs, on MT Street radials and most importantly C16. which is a vastly better drag set up than what I'm running now, this is more a Street set up for hill climbing and every day driving.

    So in street trim I haven't 1/4 miled it, I suppose I should have mentioned that :oopsie:

    I would like to go Yashio Factory LEDs but really can't justify $600+ on tail lights. Perhaps it might be time to go back to the stock ones.


    Future plans are pretty limited I'm kind of over spending money on it as the way you see it here it has cost me over $60 000 including buying the car for $32 000 in 05.
    But defiantly a Z32 5 speed conversion is a must.
    Maybe a GTR brake upgrade or some kind of larger brake set up even the DS2500 pads have trouble pull it up sometimes.
    Possibly a 100hp shot of NOS or a larger turbo - I am considering a TRUST T67 or Garret 3076r but not too keep on the high mount so I might consider a Garret 3071r to get me to 300kw atw.

    Also, I like the Lenso Speed Six's that were on it. Suited it quite well I thought.

    Overall it's a really nice package and I like that you focused on drivability and performance rather than chromies and tan leather.

    super made and vertex do them too... they shouldnt be more than 500, in japan anyway, and im sure you'd know someone there..

    i say do the 6speed internals, rather than do the box, ikeya formula, hpi, nismo or os synchros would be nice... wouldnt be far off the conversion cost either, once you factor in tailshaft and, clutch depending on which box you shifted to...

    apart from your 100mm dwarfing my 87 :) , your setup is very similar to mine...

    what does the 100 bore extrapolate to in overall cc?

    I love s15's but bodykits on a s15 is not my thing, and the volks are nice, but they just look out of place on yours.

    i think you find that most people who go all out and over the top with their modifications (ie-90% of autosalon) are generally trying to appeal to the greater masses.... those who know little-to-nothing about cars.....

    whereas cars like OP's s15 will usually appeal more to those who know a little more about what constitutes a good balance of form and function. and usually have a fairly thorough working knowledge of cars.

    i will support this by saying that i know I for one..... even though s15's are not high on my list of "cars to crack fats over", would certainly turn my head to watch this roll past over any queen st racing-type shitpile.... no matter how shiny it's ludicrous paintjob is.......

    agreed on taillights being fail. Also rear looks like it needs to be raised a bit or front needs to be lowered in the photo it seems be sitting higher front to rear

    Fark Im having major posting issues with Firefox.

    Yeah keen eye you have there with the height. In the photos that was actually the day the TRUST Type S coil overs were put in. We did it late in the afternoon and run out of sun light to adjust them properly so the back sat really low and the front sat much higher. that is how they are set up out of the box which I thought was weird.

    Anyway now I have taken it to Fulcrum and they have sorted it all out, they have been corner weighted and set up perfectly for handling. ODDLY enough the car is actually street legal ride height if you can believe that.

    The motor really has been built to handle 700hp+ but basically just so I can beat on it day in and day out however I choose.

    I did buy it initially to get into drifting but soon realised how much it wrecks yours car so I've built it up as more a hill climber, street racer track car that is as street legal as possible.

    You are right John the Speed 6s were nice although they had the worst offset. But one actually cracked badly hitting a pot whole at 150+ and they don't make them any more as which point these Volks came up for $1800 delivered with ADVAN tyres which I couldn't say no to.

    looks pretty good. are the canards functional or for style?
    i do like that it's not going to get abused by drifitng etc though. interested to see some circuit times.
