I helped.... but seriously, that is what I'm going to get for mine. I'm only running 12psi, and that is one of the reasons. I can get it retuned to more as I have all the supporting mods. But being FWD, I'm afraid that putting 250hp ATW to the ground will smash my diff / gearbox to iddy biddy pieces if I try to launch it (considering that is almost double the stock power).

The first thing to do if you are experiencing axle tramp in a FWD is check the condition of your engine mounts. Worn mounts amplify axle tramp real bad. Secondlly, check the condition of your dampers (worn dampers don't resist the wheels up and down movement correctly, again amplifying axle tramp)

Suspension options:
- polyutherane engine mounts. (Will greatlly reduce tramping, but you will notice more vibration and road noise inside the car as they are semi solid)

- Stiffer aftermarket dampers. (combined with stiffer lowered springs will help resist the front wheels urge to skip)

- Strut brace. (Helps reduce tramping by reducing front chassis flex evening out the torque loading between the front wheels)

- Whiteline anti-lift kit. (Originally designed for the WRX, but later modified to suit allot of FWD aplicationsthis, this single mod will probablly have the biggest impact if properlly installed. It reduces weight transfer to the rear during lunches. This kit also increases front wheel grip allowing you to put more power down tunes.gif )

Well I can't be certain of the effects of these mods to any make n model, but they work well on Magnas anyway. laugh.gif thumbsup.gif

No problem biggrin.gif

Phonic is all over it.

My advice would be the same as his plus dont go too firm in the front end with shocks and springs but hard rear struts/springs and a bit more height in the rear end will help.

tyre choice will help as well.

Thats what you get driving a large FWD familly sedan with a suprisinglly peaky motor and manual gearbox. While my car was stock it used axle tramp with everything but the smoothest of takoffs (whats the fun in that laugh.gif ).

No I only get tramping only if I let the clutch out to fast without sufficent revs dry.gif .

Also I agree with the higher rear spring rates, but I'd still keep the spring rate relativlly even and go with a larger rear sway bar instead, that way you keep a relativlly comfortable ride, but handling through corners is greatlly improved.

Anyway, I'm just finishing up at work and about to go home,

so Merry Christmas to all and have a safe and happy new year thumbsup.gif

axle tramp.....scared the sh!t out of me when it first happened in my car! In my car I have found you just have to figure out the right revs and clutch engagement when taking off an its all good. I know my engine mounts arent the best but I have never even had axle tramp launching at willowbank smile.gif
