We will be giving a number of prizes, including an entry to the Jamboree at Willowbank to a car as an encouragement award, which will obviously not be a V8, chosen by Steve and myself on the day.

So, reckon you can beat me if normal track trim (C16, one muffler, full rego, full interior)?

If so, just bring it!

sounds hard to beat

Is that turbo getting spooled by N2O? tongue.gif

Grump2
Post #10

No gas, I just plant the foot and it comes on boost 3000 - 4000 rpm, right up to the full boost limit and the maximum horsepower! As stated, no gas at this dyno competition!

secrutioner
Post #11

how much boost does it make?

Grump2
Post #12

Apparently the turbo itself will go to 60 psi, but we usually limit it to a little less than this. Currently we limit the car to 35psi and it doesn't miss a beat!

SHERIF
Post #13

that car is impressive but it's got a good power to weight thing going for it.........

NO NOS on GRUMP2

So he said... But normally when someone says no N2O... (NOS being a brand name smile.gif ) they mean not on the engine, spooling a turbo is different. But yeah not too bad on the lag considering then.

yer im meet all that criteria with my rotor..might bring it down for a shot too.against grumpe2..should be very interesting..but will only be on 19psi though..and only makes 600hp to wheels..hope its enough hey..if not ive got 16psi to wind into it ....also.theres a few skylines around too that will give it a run ..but its a bit hard to drive your car there with c16 fuel in it..fine city if pulled over also. cool.gif cool.gif rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif .cheers

i use to own a LX TORANA hatch back yellow in full street trim 9 inch wide tyre and full exhaust with full blue mod tag for everything and rego
it run a best 10.20 @134.00mph should of ran better but didn't realise that the fuel pump i was using was no good until it was to late.............that car would of been enough to knock old grumpy off on the dyno day

Just wondering if its $40 for 4wd as well?

OVL666
Post #29

yes 40 bucks for every car

Grump2
Post #30

Grump2 ran 141mph with a slipping clutch, which usually gives away the amount of power. Incidentally, the car's best was 10.06 at 142mph with less power than we have at the moment, clutch dramas every pass since.

As for street registration, currently NSW, I don't change it over cause I can't be bothered fitting a full exhaust to the car and re-tuning on Optimax.

I will be there in a spectating capacity, it would be embarassing to put my car on the rollers, unless the 2L is in smile.gif

SHERIF
Post #32

GRUMP2 how much would that car way

SHERIF
Post #33

could you imagine how much power you would lose if you re-tuned it for optimax, and ran it through a full exhaust. dry.gif

rx3rotor20b
Post #34

well with my rotor it makes big hp at wheels with optimax and full exhaust on 14psi....and on c16 with full exhaust on 19psi it makes ?+hp to wheels....so about 100hp difference with mine but i have 5psi more.....c16 doesnt actually make more power compared to other fuels , its just safer to run bigger boost with and an colder fuel..thats all..cheers

SHERIF
Post #35

so then it does make more power because it allows you to run more boost........
